“An airport cum entertainment hotel”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

Stayed there for the past 2 years & decided to give it a fair commentary. Overall, service is good and so is the breakfast. Close proximity to the Casino. it is one of the 3 hotels in the Casino Resort area and the most expensive one. Near Manila Airport Terminal 3, rooms are sound proofed very well, no sound of plane landing & take off. Rooms are well equipped with state of the art audio video jacks including HDTV & USB port link to LED TV. Comes with a DVD player too. Bathroom walls encased by glass & could be covered by the auto curtain blinds. Small room & pricey compared to hotels such as Hyatt or Traders Hotel near Malate area. Very tight security. Masseurs not from the hotel are not allowed to enter guest rooms since July 2013. The Price of massage is 10x more than what I paid for a outside on-call service. Beware to scrutinize bill upon check-out. Was charged for minibar consumption on 2 separate stays for things I did not take. Something wrong with their housekeeping stocktake. I insisted my stand both occasions and they wrote off the claims. Very embarrassing situation for me that I have to face this matter twice.

Room Tip: Golf course view always. Avoid rooms facing the columbarium if it gives u the jitters.

We stayed at the Marriott Manila Hotel from Aug 6th to 8th as part of our “honey-moon” and “stay vacation”. The staff of the Marriott exceeded all our expectations: we had both a complimentary bottle of wine and small wedding cake delivered to our room! Despite the Marriott’s close proximity to Ninoy Aquino International Airport and Manila’s Domestic Airport, we did not hear or see any aircraft. The Marriott also operates a complimentary shuttle-bus service to delivery you to both airports, which leaves on the hour, every hour. As stated before, the hotel staff was extremely friendly and professional. In fact, I needed to inquire about some flight information with the Head Concierge on duty, Mr. Jun Nadres. Mr. Nadres was able to book seats on a Cebu Pacific flight from Manila Domestic Airport to Naga City in approximately five minutes! Keep in mind even though it was mid-morning and very busy at the Front Desk Area, Mr. Nadres’ attention to detail ensured that we had a hard copy of the flight itinerary delivered to our hotel room in less than 30 minutes! This single, positive customer- service encounter with Mr. Nadres so impressed us that we booked a return visit to this five-star Marriott Hotel when we are in Manila on September 3rd. Btw, I used the Marriott’s website, and booked an ordinary “Guest Room, 1 King or 2 Double, Golf View”, non-smoking room for PP 10, 950. It had all the modern amenities one would expect for that price point: free Wi-Fi, high-speed internet access, and multiple input/output slots for any electronic gadget yet to be invented. So even business road-warriors will be happy. There was plenty of closet (with plush bath robes) and extra drawer storage space for families. The king-size bed was very comfortable too. The CR (bathroom) was not a little closet space. In fact, two adults could leisurely shower at the same time because the CR had an oversize, overhead, rain-shower head, two hand-held shower wands, and even a bath tub! The shower floor was discretely sunk lower than the rest of the CR floor and that important feature kept the shower waste water contained. At other five-star hotels, which lacked this subtle design factor, I have experienced what I call flooded CR-floor syndrome. Honorable mention goes out for the immaculately clean public room areas, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a huge swimming pool, and excellent hotel security (CCTV and security personal were omnipresent without being overbearing). While I avoid eating in most hotels restaurants, however, we ate breakfast every day at the “Marriott Café”. The Marriott is also attached to a new, three-story mall complex call “Republiq”, where there are many restaurants to choose from, designer-label stores, movie theaters, and casinos. If you desire to visit The Mall of Asia (MOA), it is short taxi ride that will cost about PP 110 (USD $2.50) during non-rush hour traffic, but with all these amenities on site, why bother going to the MOA?

We spent one night here, between arriving in the Philippines, and taking an internal flight out of Manila.
Although the room was very clean and of a hight standard it was pretty small, and in my view overpriced.
It is conveniently located near a Casino (of no interest to us) and a Mall which has a good selection of restaurants, perfect if you're only spending the night.
We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and were thinking of returning to the Marriott for our last nights in Manila but found that we could get a cheaper rate downtown for a suite with two bedrooms.
If you stay here I'm sure you'll be pleased with the quality of the hotel and the service.

But if the casino pays for its well worth it. Marriot burger room service was a good burger. Fries were good. The staff was excellent as far as staff in Manila is concerned. The hotel is so close to casino. I did ask to have the burger from steak restaurant delivered to room and never got a real response back. Must be. Conflict of interest. Had a nice stay thanks to the casino.

Me and my wife stayed at the executive floor, rooms were your typical ante plus bedroom configuration.

Ante room was well appointed with a guest comfort room, office area, sofas and flat screen tv on the living room. view was the golf course.

The other half of the room is your bedroom and main comfort room. Bed was comfy, you also have a flat screen, likewise comfort room has a for him and her sink. toilet separated by glass door from sink likewise tub and shower. tub/shower has a glass divider from bed so you can watch your significant other while he/she showers/tubs.

Executive lounge has the usual sorts of refreshments, sodas, beer, sandwiches, etc. they do have a cocktail hour, where they serve various hors d'oeuvres and open bar.

Swimming pool was small and typically for kids, as its depth is too shallow even on the deeper end, though they serve snacks and drinks.

Opted to eat breakfast at Marriot Cafe instead at the executive lounge, good thing, because the executive lounge had pretty limited variety. Breakfast at the cafe was your typical buffet breakfast, very good variety comparable to other big chain hotels.

Quan Spa was priced relatively cheap compared to Chi Spa, the ambiance of the lockers, massage rooms, and waiting area were all very nice, but the massage was just ok. The Spa at the fort would be a better alternative for the same price.

Overall a delightful stay, they bumped the room price quite a bit compared to when we stayed the first time around when it was newly opened though.

Room Tip: be sure to be on executive floor if you're getting executive lounge access. a bit hassle to go t...

I highly recommend this hotel for families with kids as the staff made us feel warmly welcomed. The tight security can be intimidating at first, but once inside, it wasn't a bother. We experienced fast and efficient check-in and check-out services. I called ahead to confirm my reservation and calling them was easy and efficient too. Since we are locals on a short vacation, swimming was the highlight of the stay. Their pool was not huge, but fair-sized for a few laps and child-friendly. They had 2 areas where smaller kids can play. We didn't mind that the pool wasn't so big, for in both locker rooms (men and ladies) there was a jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna, so there was much to do. They also have a nice gym. The swimming area was nice both for day and night swimming coz the temp was controlled. We had breakfast at their cafe and that was family-friendly too. It wasn't a huge selection like sofitel or shang, but the quality and variety was there. The rooms and bathrooms was spacious even with kids running around. I loved how their tub and shower was just one big place coz I didn't have to worry about water spills. There was retractable blinds to the bathroom area, so I could supervise the kids from the room when they bathed in the tub and still have privacy for myself. What's really remarkable is the huge closet space, that makes one think, "I can hang 2-weeks worth of clothes in here". We experienced good room service and housekeeping. There was an indoor link to the casino and mall, so no problem during the rainy days and late in the evening. Will definitely stay here again, and I would recommend it both for families on vacation, and adults on business trips. I will rate location average because its convenient to and frm the airport, but for travellers, you will definitely need to ride a cab to the shopping, business and cultural districts. About 15- 50 minutes to Makati and Manila City depending on traffic conditions.

( too bad he didint feel like being kept inside.. he was on vacation too!) food was so good! and the staff at Marriott cafe was incredible. my son loved the kids area as well so it was a hassle free dinner for us.
