We stayed at the Crown Regency for four nights in January 2009. We booked through asiatravel.com and paid $64 per night. This is a small "boutique" hotel with an upscale feel at a moderate price. It's right across the road from Park Square One shopping mall and quite close to Glorietta and not too far to Greenbelt malls. That's the good news. The standard rooms are very small as are the bathrooms. The included breakfast buffet was the worst we have ever had except at cheap pension houses.

Our first room faced Arnaiz Road but was pretty quiet. Our second room was in the rear facing a concrete wall. That one was very quiet but claustrophobic. If you have your own car be aware that parking is quite limited. Bottom line for us -- the Crown Regency is OK, but there are better choices in Makati.

Securing one room type for A$92 per night and a slightly better 'deluxe' room for A$99 when the former was booked out, my overriding impression was that this hotel offered good value for money.

It was pleasant. Bedding was comfortable, and breakfast OK although not as good as (say) the Parklane in Cebu.

The hotel seemed very busy, which is not surprising given that January is 'peak season' in the Philippines. However despite this the staff were uniformly courteous.

Stayed twice recently....two nights mid-November and three nights a few days ago. We got the standard room both times and were pretty pleased with them. Very comfortable. Good price for the area and plenty of shopping and dining opportunities only a few seconds away across the street. Best location in town in my opinion. Staff were good to us....like an earlier reviewer...breakfast pretty ordinary and you have a better chance of getting more variety if you get up early and down to eat before 8AM....once they run out of a dish they tend not to refill the platters. After 9AM your breakfast options are limited....

Free newspaper in the morning. Good internet (ethernet cable in rooms)...wireless in lobby and restaurant. We noticed the rooms heat up quickly once you leave (power shuts down after the key is removed - like most places nowadays) and it can take a long while to cool them again. But the A/C's are split systems and at least not noisey...

Overall, we like the place..recommend it...and we'll regularly stay there when in Makati. It certainly beats the others in the same price range...and a couple of them are real shockers....(Gilarmi comes to mind - readily)....

Looking forward to next time...

Stayed for 1 night at the end of Nnovember before flying back to the UK. Had stayed in the Peninsula for a few nights before with my partner who was in Manila on business but was leaving before me so I moved to somewhere in a lower price bracket.

First impressions was that the hotel was either new or had recently been refurbished From reading reviews and from staying in Manila previously I was well aware with the traffic problems so got a room at the back of the property away from the main road. Room was ideal for 1 night, was clean and comfortable with a good size bathroom with bath and shower.

Ideal location for shopping and eating out as right across from the major shopping malls in Makati

Breakfast was basic but okay and overall an ideal property for a couple of nights in the lower price bracket.

I would certainly consider staying there again
