A family member steered us here. And we were quite pleased. We stayed for 7 nights, one room with 2 twin beds at 2800 pesos per night (approx $70). Hotel Celeste across the street cost 2x more so was Dusit Thani, Peninsula, St Giles. So we considered it a bargain for the area. It is near the corner of Makati Ave and Pasay Rd (now called Arnaiz Ave). Greenbelt malls were one block away and so was Landmark dept store which will connect you to the Glorietta malls and onto SM Makati. That's why the location is brilliant. You can use the pedestrian walkways to go shopping and to fine restaurants. The Philippine stock exchange, the Ayala Park Triangle which is near the Nielson Tower (the area is the old Manila International Airport) are all within walking distance. We even walked back to our hotel from the Salcedo Village Market (an open market selling foodstuffs held on Saturdays).
What I really liked about the hotel is that it had only 3 floors of hotel rooms. It had an elevator but it's nice just to walk up to your room from the lobby and not wait for the elevator. I found this uncomplicated design refreshing as we've been staying in hotels for weeks.
The only draw back is the food was just so-so. They have several breakfast options but the rest of the menu, you can go elsewhere for food. Also, the room was small (think Manhattan). We were lucky to just have 2 pieces of luggages, with more, there wouldn't be any room. But then again, this is a business man's hotel that it wasn't designed for families.
The staff was very pleasant. We will stay here again if in Makati..
