My wife and I booked this hotel through an airline package and
were so pleased we did booked Dusit Manila. You will be greeted
by the staff at the door and there will be ushers to guide you where to check-in (well you can help yourself to find where the check-in counter is) .. Good impression during check-in. I was even given preference and selections to room views. Great service. Luggage assistance is always handy... Well secured place as compared to the hotel we normally book. Variety of bbfast foods at BASIX... One of the nice thing also observed is that whenever you bring -in foods from outside, they will assist you of putting it in a nice ( own DUSIT bag) bag so you can carry it with "pride" up to your room.. In tagalog slang " sosyal" ...

It's quite near to the big mall ( SM) and bus stops and Light Rail station..We prefer this one than the other hotel we normally book.

I will book again with this hotel until my stay is no longer worth
it. First impression lasts.....

Stayed at the Dusit for 4 nights with my husband and I have no complaints about this hotel.

The staff was superb...from the guards at the entrance to the housekeeping...they were all incredible.

The hotel may look old from the outside but dont let it fool you. We had a deluxe room with king size bed which was very comfortable, the towels were big and thick, theres a mini coffee and tea bar that my husband appreciated, flat screen tv and an AC that blasts really cold air.

The hotel has 5 restaurants, and we loved Umu (Japanese), Benjarong (Thai) and the Fiesta Bar (brews their own beer).

The hotel is located in a good and safe area of Makati, right next to a huge department store, malls (Greenbelt and Glorietta).

This hotel didnt disappoint!

This is not a 5 stars!!!! If you are looking for luxury and pampering then you're at the wrong place. I spotted ants twice in the room, and the room service forgot to provide me with hand towels for 2 days in a row. To be fair when the front desk manager knew about those incidents during my checkout, she waived my late checkout fee. But still, the scale was broken, the bathtub was very old and faded. Let alone the breakfast buffet!!! You need to queue at the entrance because you cannot sit on your own, but a waitress needs to seat you. One morning I had to wait for more than 10 minutes because of the long queue and the few numbers of waitresses. Then the buffet is really bad if you're looking for a continental breakfast!! One time the maple syrup pot was empty, I had to look for a waiter to inform him that it's empty and replace it, so the waiter went to the kitchen and after more than 5 minutes, he came back with a maple bottle, to be surprised that the pot was gone (it was taken by another waiter), so he went back again execusing himself that he needs to get an empty pot.. all in all I had to hold my pancakes and wait next to the syrups for over 10 minutes.. SO inconvenient especially when you planned your breakfast to be on time for a conference or a meeting.. Choice of cereal is poor.. etc..
On another note, the location is great! It is in the center of Makati right next door to 3 huge malls (SM, Glorietta, and Greenbelt), and close to hundreds of restaurants of all categories (Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Fast food, American, etc..) so you can easily grab a bite somewhere near and skip the hotel food. Shopping there is also convenient especially that two big souvenir shops are located right next door.

Stayed here 2 nights on a business trip and was impressed with the breakfast!!!!The choice they have is like having a lunch buffet rather than a breakfast. The spread range from Continental to American to Local which is definitely a good spread.

From the exterior, the hotel looks dated but the lobby was well done up with rooms newly renovated. a flat screen TV means saving on lots of space though the room is not big. The complimentary tea bags they have in the room are premium German grade which they also offered in the cafe for breakfast, a rare find. Comfortable bed but pillows were a bit soft for my liking. Choice of TV channels were limited but good thing is with the Olympic on, that is good enough.

The only so call problem I have was the "card system" for the lift which is supposedly good for security reason but having to search for the card to gain access when in the leift ca be rather troublesome if someone before you inserted their card and you take a while to look for your and missed your floor, what a hassle but then again this is all for security which you see well equipped in this hotel as they have lots of staff at the lobby.

Internet access was expensive at PHP 675 for per day and they do not have hourly rate unless you are using WiFi but was told that the mall next to the hotel offered free WiFi but didn't try it out as I was on business trip.

The location of the hotel is good with several malls just next to the hotel which mean food is always not a problem but then again, Philippino food just do not go well with me as I find them too sweet.

Getting to airport is also not a problem if traffic is smooth, you can get there in less than 30 mins at maximum PHP 200 when the hotel charges you PHP 1700 for their private car.

Overall, a good experience at the hotel.

I went to Manila in Apr-08 and stayed in Dusit Thani hotel. It’s a real 5 star experience. The staffs are very cordial and professional. It’s an amazing hotel and is placed in a strategic location for shoppers, tourists and business persons. Dusit is also surrounded by shopping malls and has easy to access to anywhere in Manila. Its expensive place, but worth the price. If I plan my next trip to Manila, Dusit Thani is the place I would choose first.

My wife and I planned to celebrate New Year's Eve at a 5-star hotel (not going to mention) in Makati. So we booked a room 2 months ahead as hotel rooms instantly get fully booked at this day of the year. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out as planned. Long queue. Wrong bed (we were given twin for a couple!). Small and old styled room. We checkout immediately and drove away.

Then we tried our luck at Dusit. There were no queues. It was peaceful. We were given a very nice deluxe room. It was newly renovated. It comes with an LCD tv (perfect match for our wii); king size bed; free fruit basket; complimentary broadband connection, executive cocktail, breakfast; free trumpet and hat (for new year's eve). And we got this fantastic skyline view of the fireworks firing from Manila Bay, Manila, and Makati CBD!

The staff at Dusit Thani Makati are so stuck up. They work there, they're not staying at the hotel. The front desk did not greet me, not even a hello. First of all, I booked the hotel for two people, but they insist that it's only booked for one person, even though I had a printout of my booking confirmation. I got them to change the number of people in the room, but they still only gave me one free breakfast. The room was small, the shower curtain was torn, the room was dingy and smelled like mildew, yuck! If you want to get some sleep during the day, forget about it, the window curtains don't shut all the way, you either got sunlight at the end or in the middle of the window. When you go to the lobby, there are more security than guest,s except security are perverted old guys, I did not feel comfortable in that hotel at all. Don't even think about swimming in their "pool" which only reached my chest and I'm only 5' 3." Skip eating at any of the restaurants, waste of money if you like good food.
