After a bad experience with a 4 star hotel in makatim we tried the Copa hotel and were very pleased.
The rooms are very big with wooden floor.
Everything is super clean.
Lots of hot water.
The location is great- in Makati, next to Greenbelt Malls and resturants that are open all night.

Room Tip: ask for non smoking

I booked 2 rooms thru Agoda.com for this hotel as the price seems to be reasonable. BAD decision. VERY DARK entrance up to the elevator. When we checked-in, I asked the front desk for adjacent rooms. She said "yes ma'am..." Soon as we saw the rooms, they were located in separate hallways, both on opposite ends of the building. Duhhhh!!! when asked... she asked the bellboy (on the radio)...are they really separate? Are you kidding me? she has no clue about the map of the hotel???? Another thing...their beds are 2-twin sized beds...no double beds. So my husband had to sleep in one bed while I sleep in another. I guess they never had couples for their guests before. That was ridiculous!!! Views: very bad. Our window was facing fire escape stairs and a cement wall. The worst of all, front desk staff are very unprofessional. Very poor customer service. very bad for the business.Food: nothing to smile about; very basic. Overall, I will NOT return to this hotel again.

We booked this hotel as it was the best rated available hotel on booking .com at the time. It had a rating of 7.3 and was described as "good". It is NOT a "good" hotel and we're amazed at how anyone could even suggest this. The hotel is a 'budget'/2 Star Hotel with a 3-4 star price. The rooms are filled full of cheap, tatty and odd furniture, the roof of our so called 'suite' leaked, the place is grimey.

The hotel is also on a busy main road so is very noisey with poor noise insulation, made worse by the wall mounted air con units. The hotel is also located in a rundown area of the city where you don't want to walk around at night. The room we were originally given had no windows.

Upon checking out the hotel also tried to charge us more than the price we booked the hotel for. They said 'they had nothing to do with booking.com and it's price!'. Amazing. Avoid the hotel, there are far better available nearby.

Room Tip: Pick a different hotel.

When staying in Makati the "Copa" is not our first choice (that would be the Dusit), but if looking for a relatively inexpensive hotel in a very good location it scores well.
Not every stay there has been perfect, and the other reviews show that the service from staff, and the maintenance of the rooms is very inconsistent.
Our most recent stay (4 Aug), was however quite OK, we booked a standard room direct with them on line at $60 for the night. They will take a 10% deposit at time of booking (administered by RBS Worldpay), and will require a credit card "swipe" on arrival, or payment for the room plus a PhP2000 security deposit.
The twin room we had (209) was one floor up from Reception overlooking the main road, and was clean and tidy with coffee and tea making facilities. There is no water provided, and if you use one of the teabags provided it will cost you 18pesos!
But no great problem, there is a 7-11 right across the road, and a Mercury Drug also. Within a short distance is "Sanry's" money changers - which has branches in most Malls.
From the Hotel, it is less than 200metres to Greenbelt 3, and from there the whole of Greenbelt, Glorietta ,and Park Square is a short undercover (and mostly air-conditioned walk). Although some Supermarkets open at 0830, be aware that it is not possible to walk through most Malls until 1000.
Regarding the "late" checkout referred to in a previous review, our experience was that we asked if we could check out at 1pm rather than midday, and the reply from reception was "No problem".
So all in all, good value for the price paid.(Expensive wi-fi but many free in the Malls)

Room Tip: Put up with the street noise and take a room at the front with a decent window.

Booked this hotel and made one of the greatest mistakes... Staff especially front desk manager was very unprofessional, unreasonable, arrogant and wasn't really keen on serving customer's needs.

People, beware! If have made a mistake of checking in here be sure to check-out at 12:00 noon on the dot otherwise you will be charged for another day as "the system shows that you haven't checked out at 12:00 noon"! Great way to con you, huh!

Never ever again!
