“Great Hotel for a good price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

One of the good things that travelers are looking for is a nice place to stay and paying less for a great service. They have nice room selection, spacious gym & a rooftop swimming pool with a nice view especially in the evening.Buffet breakfast is two thumbs up which you will always look forward for every morning.Staffs are helpful and attentive

My rating could've been excellent if there are things that City Garden needs to work on.They need to improve their 2 small elevators,I've waited for a little while to get to my room (good luck if your in higher floors, long wait) they should also prevent the employees using the same elevator, there was an instance where i could not get in because one of the employee have a huge bag of laundry.they should have a service elevator to avoid these scenario.Other than this issue,I was satisfied with my stay in this hotel.

Room Tip: Executive rooms has Makati Ave views, some standard rooms doesn't have window, those were inner ro...

This hotel is very good for the price. They have a very nice rest on the roof near the pool. The service is excellent. The rooms are comfortable with frigde, tv, a/c, etc. They have a good gym with a nice view.

Room Tip: Dont select the rooms near the exit of each floor. Ask for the rooms with view to the city.

Hotels in Manila do not match the Bangkok standards, so I guess a different scale has to be applied. Most rooms in the upper floors have a great view on the Makati skyline. furniture is somewhat older but service and housekeeping is effective and friendly. Reception is also very friendly and efficient. The hotel is located closed to many entertainment venues and not to far from Greenbelt. The roof top pool and restaurant are excellent and staff is super friendly. However, the property is overpriced compared to the many surrounding properties.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms facing Makati skyline.

I have stayed at this hotel on 2 accassions for about a week.
Rooms are OK , Shower is nice , aircon needs improvement.

They dont give a late check out easily even though I made a long term stay. Conveneient location several restaurants around the place,7/11 few meters aways , also close to Burgos street whihc is famous for nite life and the Ayala Mall which is great for shopping.

The complimentary breakfats is a let down. Everyday they serve yesterdays left-over corned beef which is too salty. The asian food is a smelly for me and hence outs me off. Breads are not too good , leaving the omlette which are doen well. The other items on breakfast are passable.

the view from terrace where they have a "mini" indoor pool and bar is nice and a cool place to relax if its not too warm outdoors.

Plenty of meter taxis in the are is a plus point.

Room Tip: The rooms with Bay view are nicer coz they have aview others are boring

Stayed here for an overnight layover after arriving from a cruise. Check-in was easy. Although there were only 2 elevators to service more than 20 floors, waiting time was 2 minutes at the most. The size of the rooms were more Japanese and Korean standard. But the bed was queen size, 42-inch flat TV had a lot of cable channels, airconditioning was remote controlled, plus a closet, a compact work table, minibar, and extra pillow. The bathroom was well stacked with double servings of standard, medium and small towels, dental kit, shampoo, shower gel (all in 2's); there were even 2 toilet paper dispensers. The only downside probably is that I stayed in an 18th floor room and opening the curtains, you see nothing, a dark wall? A nice view of the city would have gotten a score of 5. To compensate, the roofdeck offers this plus a "beer all you can" for only 12 dollars from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. The location is also excellent, with lots of restaurants and convenience stores in the vicinity. Really good value for money. For a budget hotel, less means more.

Ive stayed in a few places in Makati, but the staff in City Garden are second to none, from front office to the cleaners everyone is so friendly.
The only downside was the rudeness of some of the westerners, and im from Australia.
If travelling to makati, City Garden would be ideal.
I know on my next visit i will be staying there again, and would recommend this hotel over and over.
Well done to all the staff

We are a family of four, two kids 6 & 9. We took a room on the 9th floor. Although the pool was under maintenance and therefore not able to be used, the managment arranged for us to use an adjacent hotel's pool. All the staff here are professional and very obliging. Our stay there was first rate, the room is very clean, HK did a great job of maintaining a very comfortable and clean room, F&B made basically anything we asked for that wasn't avaialbe from the extensive buffet, like omlettes, pancakes, baked beans, etc. Excellent value for money and a hastle free stay. Fully recommended.
