The hotel offers basic services for fair price. It consists of four towers with underground reception, room was small, clean, A/C working, safe working, the room looked after regularly. My room was second floor facing the Real Street (back side of the hotel) which was quite okay because the traffic is not that bad there. Location is excellent, near to the MRT Ayala station and Shopping Malls.

Swimming pool is very small with the Makati road just over the wall which makes it a really terrible experience. Gym is okay, towels provided.

Breakfast is served in two places - Old Swiss Inn and bar downstairs, no big difference between these two, we have been alternating from day to day.

We had quite an argument with the staff regarding late check-out requested by us. even if it was not fully booked they were willing not much to do us the favor (for our money).

Location of the hotel was great! Could walk to the malls, and was close to catch a can to the rest of the malls!

We were only there for one night in a 2 bed suite but this was enough. It would have been annoying to deal with the issues if our stay was longer.
Check in was professional and welcoming. On exiting the hallway to our suite there was an overwhelming smell of damp, dust and mold. The rooms were nicely decorated and well proportioned with a sitting room between 2 bedrooms. I think the airconditioner managed to take some of the hall smell out of the room.
As we arrived late it was straight to bed as we had an early flight the next morning. On waking NO HOT WATER. Two bathrooms with no hot water. Cold showers for us. Quick breakfast which was ok for the adults but unfortunately we have fussy kids who tend to have western tastes. Really our problem not the hotels!
Back to the hotel room, unable to open the safe even though I tested the safe before using it. With only 20 min till our pick up the hotel did well to fix with only one hurry up needed.
This hotel has been let go and to attract business and families a lot of work needs to be done

Room Tip: Find out if they have done any refurbishments and choose those rooms

booked a 2 bedroom suite for the new year's with my family. The lobby, if you can call it that is a small reception area with only 4 single chairs for guests. the building looks old. it doesn't feel too welcoming. we arrived at 4.30pm only to be told our room still wasn't ready, with kids in tow and no space to sit for everybody it wasn't pleasant, after a few minutes we were told we could go up to the room and the cleaner would direct us to the "clean" part of the room while they finish up. When we reached the 4th floor, we were sent back down because they isn't a finished part of the suite yet...it became very disappointing. After 30-40mins of this, it was only then that the receptionist offered a studio room for us to wait...which would have been better if it were given earlier as the kids are getting pretty hungry and tired.
The 2 bedroom suite we booked was slightly dated but spacious. The master bedroom was huge but the toilet and bath was a bit small, the second room have 2 twin beds, a study table, was spacious but again the toilet and shower was so small. There was an open space in the 2 bedroom that had shelves and seems to be a waste of space. Nonetheless the important part was that the kitchen was complete altho' it is also quite small only 2 people can be in the kitchen at one time as it gets too crowded. The living room was spacious. Airconditioning was good. Walking distance to Ayala Triangle and the malls.
We had a fun new year's eve celebration as the fireworks display was right outside Somerset's entrance.
Would recommend if you need a serviced accommodation. Check-out for sale prices. We were lucky to get a rate of P5400/nyt but with 1,200 additional bed plus taxes and surcharges we ended up paying 8K.

Like other reviewers, this place is good for a short stay and the selling point is the proximity to shopping areas and eating places. We stayed in a double room as there were four of us and it turned out really cheaply for us. It was spacious, clean and though slightly dated. The bed was more than comfortable and we didnt have issue with water pressure or dirty towels.

This place is perfect for people that are looking for no frills - this isn't a luxury hotel despite of the photos in their website. Though I can imagine it probably was luxurious 20 years ago. Overall a pleasant and comfortable stay. I will definitely come back if needing a place for a couple of nights in Makati the next time.

The Ayala Triangle across just opened with loads of restaurants so don't even consider eating breakfast at the hotel - we paid Php400 pesos per person for a spread that was dismal. I am familiar with Philippine prices so I felt slightly cheated. A little more and I could have an amazing breakfast next door at Manila Peninsula. DONT ever take breakfast here.

Room Tip: Don't expect a nice view and this hotel is wedge between other buildings. Just ask for the clean...

I usually stay at the Peninsula when in Manila on business, but opted for a serviced apartment when I was scheduled for an extended stay. I opted for the Somerset Olympia because of the convenient Makati location, across the street from the Peninsula and a short walk to the restaurants and shopping in Glorietta and Greenbelt, and because of previous satisfactory stays at Somerset properties (part of the Ascott group) in Vietnam and Korea. Overall it was fine, pretty good value for the money, and nice to have the extra space of a one-bedroom apartment and convenience of a kitchen for a long stay. Staff were very helpful, and being able to get business centre services like scanning documents at no charge is a nice change from five-star hotel service. The building is an older property, but pretty well maintained. The negatives did not affect me too much, but might be important for others. The apartment was less well equipped than other Somersets I have stayed in—fewer pots and cooking utensils; and there was only a guest laundry room rather a washer/dryer in the apartment. The gym has only basic equipment—one bike, two treadmills and some weight machines, but it was never very busy when I was there. The pool is very small—not good for someone who wants to swim laps, and there is not much space available if sun-bathing by the pool is your thing. Breakfast (included in the price) is pretty limited, although one of the two restaurants offers Asian options, and cooked-to order omelettes are available. Helpful hint: the grocery store in the basement of Rustan’s department store has a reasonable selection of deli and meal-to-go options; and the grocery store in the basement of The Landmark department store has decent sushi to take away. Both of these stores and the SM department store (all within a 10 minute walk) all offer a decent range of local and imported groceries for those wanting to self-cater.

I stayed here November 2011. I stayed in a one-bedroom deluxe. I had no balcony and dirty windows with no sunlight and was surrounded by other buildings. This hotel is incredibly worn and needs to be badly updated. I do not understand how anyone can review this hotel positively. First of all, the room smelled pervasively of mold. I complained to the reception area numerous times to no avail. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore - I was coughing throughout the night and developed a horrible sore throat so we ended up moving to another hotel and lost money on the reservation. Second, my linens were not washed. I was given towels that smelled like they had been previously used by former occupant - DISGUSTING! I told the reception and they never sent me new towels in time. In fact, you always have to remind them of your requests quite a few times. Third, the plumbing was awful - no water pressure and very little hot water. Fourth, the internet was non-existent. For a hotel that caters to business travelers, I found this to be dismal. What's more, they completely overcharge for the experience you receive. Overall, I was horribly disappointed! Do not waste your money or turn Manila into a bad experience because of a crappy hotel.
