“Solid value for the price”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

As far as 5 star hotels go this one is fine, especially since the pricing really is not that steep.

Service is mainly good or great, the rooms are good. The gym is great compared to 99% of hotel gyms. Almost fully equipped, not only a couple of treadmills and/or cross trainers.

Stayed here 5 nights and liked it.

My only complaint was that one or two of the staff at breakfast had zero attention to detail (they did smile at least). I don't want to have to ask two different people three (!) times and wait 20 minutes to get my coffee in the morning.

Also, had a couple of business meetings in the lobby area, worked like a charm.

Room Tip: High floor

The InterContinental Manila is my second favorite IHG hotel right behind InterContinental Beijing. The lobby alone is a "place to be seen." It was decorated with some of the most elaborate floral pieces I have seen lately (just as I see many hotels cutting cost here, this was a welcome surprise.) The hidden gem of the hotel is the tiny bakery and coffee shop tucked in next to the gift store in the basement. Excellent coffee, pastries, chocolates and gifts! I mean excellent! I had a crazy local pastry treat of purple yam with white sharp cheese. Was it ever good! My tip is to avoid room service and restaurants and stick to the bakery and lobby for food. I had a business meeting and dinner next door at the Manila Shangri-La. Between the 2 I would highly recommend the IC in every way.

Room Tip: Does not really make much difference. Not much of a view. Rooms are standard. It's the public...

I stayed here for a 4 night business trip and I would love to return as a tourist. The service was lovely and all amenities delightful. I stayed on the club floor and the quiet attentive ambience was very welcome.
The room was well furnished, comfortable and quiet. The housekeeping staff kept it well stocked with fruit and water. I bring one of my child's teddy bears with me when travelling for business (at his command of course) and the housekeeping staff made sure Teddy was very comfortable as well !
The pool area was tropical, clean and serene. The lobby on the other hand was vibrant, bustling and envigorating - as well as beautiful.
This hotel is well placed for shopping malls and it wasn't that difficult to cross the road during the day and easy in the evening.

I stayed here the other night just to see how the place has been ever since it was apparently part of some kind of military uprising several years ago. The place remains to be an iconic part of makati avenue and the service was very good.

I really can not fault The Peninsula on anything. The staff is super friendly, the food, especially in their asian restaurant, is the best I have tasted in the Philippines.

Pool excellent, room & bed excellent, staff excellent, food excellent.

Good drinks in the bar, don't miss their Guyabano Basil Bomb or Chilled Mango Daqari!

A true 5-star experience from beginning to end.

Great Place for a nice time with your friend or even a business meeting. I was impressed with the live performance of light classic music, drinks and the ambiance of the place. Very polite and attentive staff and those deep fried jalapeno peppers are amazing if you like hot food. They keep bringing nibbles even if you don't ask for more. Ok I must admit its not a cheap place but its definitely worth it.

As can be expected of a Peninsula hotel, the Manila Pen lives us to its 5-star hotel rating. Service and comfort are top-notch. Location in Makati is very ideal. Just a short walk to shopping malls, parks, restaurants, and the city's commercial business district.

Kids will enjoy the kiddie pool although adults might find the other end of the pool at 8 feet a little too deep.

Best feature of the hotel is the impressive lobby. They have the best lobby among the hotels in Manila.
