“Great Location”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

My Husband stays here a lot for business. Given we all came up to Manilla this time (2 kids in toe) I was wondering how this business hotel would cope for a family.
The hotel is run in a very professional manner. Breakfasts amazing. The staff cleared the suit out so we could fit 2 beds in to the spare room. We very much appreciated this. The rooms are not big but A OK. While the pool surroundings are not the newest is a great sized pool and very clean.
The location is excellent. We just had to walk across the road to Ayala Green Belt. Great restaurants and a good cinema right at your finger tips. Walking distance to all the best shopping areas. The hotel is being upgraded and the foyer is now quite impressive. They are yet to finish the club. The food offer in this area could be addressed, as nothing is available at all over lunch other than peanuts ,sultans and the odd juice, coffee.
Generally a very comfortable stay

This is my third stay here in 2012 , the fabulous Lobby refurbishment is finished and I believe now the rooms are undergoing some modernisation. However, my Executive room was spacious and although somewhat dated incredibly comfortable. Good writing desk, sofa, armchair, functional lighting and huge comfortable bed. Disappointing to have to pay for WiFi in this day and age as it should be a free prerequisite everywhere although it worked well. The bathroom is large, separate shower cubicle and bath with shower over, good toiletries.
Surprised at the lack of decent tv channels and amazed that this hotel offers the incredibly biased Fox news and yet no CNN!
The service throughout the hotel is exemplary from extremely well trained and charming staff, nothing too much trouble, they are wonderful. Food in the main Dining Room offered plenty of variety and was too a very good standard. The pool is ample, could do with more sun beds for peak times. The location is right opposite Greenbelt 3 and not far from Glorietta Mall, perfect for shopping and meals etc.
The main drawback as with almost every hotel and outlet here is that Management believe guests wish to be drowned in terrible 'ambient music'! From October one has to suffer nightmarish old American Christmas songs virtually everywhere, usually played at volumes which cause us to speak louder and thus destroy any semblance of peace and relaxation. Surely nowadays people prefer to plug in and listen to their own selection if music is considered necessary whilst eating or relaxing!
Apart from that the New World is a top of the range hotel.

Room Tip: The Executive rooms offer access to the Business Lounge.

Was there last year, enjoyed so much that booked again this year. Disappointed that lobby was under construction. There was a strong (paint thinner?) smell near/in the elevators. 5 Stars for service, above and beyond. I've stayed at the Pen, Hyatt, etc and NWM far exceeds my expectations for service. This was true last year when there wasn't any construction noises/smells. I'll be back.

New World is undergoing some major renovation and once it`s done, I think would be a really nice hotel. But compared to Dusit Thani and how much it cost to stay there, I would definitely choose New World, hands down. The only thing that gives an edge to Dusit is their breakfast buffet, which has more selection and I think better quality. The rooms at New World is more spacious, especially the bathroom. We were upgraded to an executive deluxe and felt really comfortable staying there. I would highly recommend this property, especially because it`s just across Greenbelt and all the nice restaurants in Makati.

The executive club lounge was good, with free internet, friendly staff, and a full bar and buffet late afternoon. Breakfast was at M2M, and there was a lot of choice. The hotel staff are always corteous. Rooms were dated, but spacious and with a plasma TV and separate shower stall. Meeting rooms are conveniently located above the lobby level. The location was superb, it's just across from Greenbelt 3, which made it very easy for us to go for meals and late night drinks. 7-Eleven is a few minutes walking distance from the hotel.

Spent 4 nights here Oct/Nov 2012. We had booked an executive room more by accident, but were blown away by the executive club lounge. Free internet, free soft drinks and light snacks all day, very friendly staff, and a full bar and buffet late afternoon. The one thing I would wish for is that they have a dress code for the lounge. There were some slightly obnoxious people in sports shorts and jandals in there one evening, which spoilt the experience for me. We had our breakfasts in the main restaurant, as the choice was a lot bigger (incl basic sushi, noodle soups etc), but you really did not need any other food than breakfast and late afternoon buffet. Good wines, even sparkling, and International spirits included. The staff are always corteous. Rooms not outstanding, but spacious and with a lovely shower. Can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Go for executive club if you can

I was recommended this hotel by colleagues for its proximity to the Greenbelt malls, for the shopping and food experience. Truly so, the location is a highlight.
The rooms were basic and surely dated, but I experienced the transformation of their lobby and entrance firsthand and the result clearly showed that given time, this not so ugly duckling is going to be a fine swan!
Breakfast spread is nice and the Filipino hospitality is warm, courteous and helpful. The staff smiles all the time and even helps with pocket change for the cabs which they hail for you. Way to go!
