“Return trip .... Renovations underway......”

My hotel of choice in Manila... Great location, friendly staff..... And yes they are sprucing things up..... Lobby hidden behind huge whiteout sheets and the outside is being painted...... Unveiling very soon!!.Whilst this is going on check out can be a little hectic..... Allow more time .... as the reception area is now half it's original size.

Whilst I agree with other contributors the rooms are dated but they are clean and the bed linen is crisp.

Are there better hotels in Manila .... Possibly.... But they will be twice as expensive.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms overlooking the back of the hotel .... They are noisy on a Friday and Saturday evening...

There is a street with pretty much traffic on the backside. I had a room at 9th floor and thought the noice where disturbing.

Stayed here for a business trip. A very decent hotel that is very convenient. Just across the road from Greenbelt, a multi-block shopping complex. The service staff was friendly.

I stayed at New World for 4 nights in January this year. The location is excellent for a business visitor, you can walk across the street to Greenbelt mall with all the joys of international brand shopping, local restaurants and a very nice (also very hard to find) spa called The Spa.
The lobby is overpromising, and the rooms underdeliver.

I stayed on the 6th floor, and while everything in the room was working ok, it was also very, very tired. The furniture felt from the 70s, the phone was one of those classic hotel phones that used to be white but is now burnt out with age yellow plastic, the carpet was old-fashioned, and if you look outside the window, you can see that the building needs some power washing and a coat of paint. Speaking of paint, the room doors and door frames were being painted with oil-based paint on my second day of stay. I understand the need for maintenance, but the smell was not super pleasant, and the security of the process was a bit questionable as the painters were leaving the doors of occupied rooms ajar to let the paint dry....

Overall, the service was very pleasant (as it always is in this friendly country), breakfast buffet was included in the rate and very extensive (although the quality of the items was just fine, not exceptional - would not inspire a gourmet, but very good for any regular guest. Internet was included in the rate too.

Botom line, this depends on the price.. I'd stay there again if there was a good deal, but I am not raving about the place. It was just ok.

Stayed at this hotel for 8 nights in their Superior Room.

Pros:
1. Excellent breakfast - food is high quality, highlights include pancakes/waffles made-to-order and an array of freshly extracted juices. Management know what they are doing! One day when it was really busy I saw a couple of suits (presumably F&B managers/supervisors) helping out with table organisation. Staff are also very courteous and efficient.
2. Location - a few steps away from Greenbelt 3.
3. Well-trained and friendly staff.

Cons:
1. Room - Bed was a queen size bed and basic.
2. Bathroom - had a very small bath tub, which for us was virtually unusable. The bathroom could be updated.

Overall, the positives far outweighed the negatives, and we would probably stay here again and would recommend it to our friends and family.

Incredible service. Everyone eager to help you in anyway they can and genuinely happy to do so. We included the breakfast buffet with our reservation because of the reviews on trip advisor. They were extremely accurate. The breakfast buffet was excellent. What was a phenomenal bonus, was the lunch buffet. As great as the breakfast buffet was, the lunch buffet was even better. This was the best food I've ever had anywhere. And it is the head chef and staff that make that possible. You won't find a better meal in town or anywhere else for that matter. I can't say enough about the quality of the food. The rooms are luxurious, comfortable, spacious and clean. And they're only going to get better as the hotel is under going a major renovation. Location is the icing on the cake. Right across the street from the hotel is 5 Greenbelt Malls. If that's not enough, the Landmark Mall is accessible from the Greenbelt Malls by a skywalk. Connected to the Landmark are the Glorietta Mall and then the SM Mall. Its a shoppers paradise. It's also right in the heart of the Makati Business District. So, business or pleasure, its the perfect location. There are more expensive hotels, but you won't find a better value for your dollar than at the New World Makati.

Room Tip: Upgrade to an Executive Room. Larger room, business office perks, and manager's reception every...
