“Very Good!”
Reviewed December 7, 2013 via mobile

Got invited to attend a party at this restaurant. So the hostess ordered siao long bao- dumpling with soup inside- I thought it was very good and tasty; the crab rice was also very good and a nice twist to the usual crab dish; the peking duck was very good- the wrapper was nice soft moist while crunchy duck; prawn with salted egg- really nice!; the almond milk dessert was also good! Over-all it was wonderful!

“Just ducky!”
Reviewed October 29, 2013 via mobile

This restaurant is tucked away in Greenbelt 5 in Makati and has Peking Duck as the main attraction. We ate here last evening and found the duck quite delicious.

The evening started with a teaser appetizer, jellyfish and century old egg, which are a good combination of flavors and an interesting contrast in textures. The other mains aside from the duck were "kailan" with garlic and ginger (not on the menu, but available) and shredded pork with garlic. The portions were quite large, tasty and made for sharing.

The duck was excellent. The accompanying sauce was a plum/hoisin/honey mixture - a bit sweeter than I've normally encountered but a nice counterpoint to the scallions. We finished it all!

Service was prompt and attentive except towards the end when several large parties showed up at once, the surge overwhelming the staff.

This is a place suitable for families and large parties. The portion sizes are made for sharing.

“Consistently Good”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

On almost every trip I made to Manila, I will dine at Peking Garden restaurant for the good food, services and ambiance. Their signature dish - the delicious Peking duck, imported from China is outstanding. But with the ban on the imports from China, I think the restaurant now uses either local or USA imported ducks which is not the same. The texture and the taste is not as good as the China duck. Nevertheless, the restaurant offers very good Cantonese cuisine with wide choices from the menu. If you want something special, ask the Hong Kong manager for recommendation. In my opinion, this restaurant is one of the top 3 Chinese restaurants in the Philippines. It is always packed during dinner especially on weekends so it is best to make a reservation before going or you will have to wait for up to 30 min for a table.

“Uncaring Staffs”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

We passed on this resto so many times. It looks fancy from outside. Anyway, I told my husband why don't we try this resto one day. It was the most disappointing lunch. Since it"s our first time we asked a staff what meal they can recommend? They told us few. When we finally got our food which took soooo long, we asked one of the staff what are some of the ingredients we see on our food. They don"t have a CLUE!! So that tells us this resto do not take time to train workers.I asked a supervisor if I can get a comment form, answer? NONE.

“Pricey but lousy”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

The ambiance is a typical Chinese restaurant but not elegant. The food is good but nothing special. The dishes were lavishly garnished while lacking in main substance. Food taste and servings is not commensurate to the high price. Cutlery is not even elegant. The food attendants don't know how to properly serve the food, while the others don't know how to receive the incoming and waiting guests. We deserve great food and excellent service for the high price we paid. This restaurant is a big disappointment.
