A few years ago, when the Amici Restaurant near Don Bosco was managed by an Italian lay Salesian, I fell in love with their Italian pasta and pizza. Their gelato was also the best. Their pizza was baked in wood fired oven, and it was a delight looking at the pizzas being cooked in this oven. However, when Amici was bought by a local food chain, the taste and quality of their supposedly Italian pasta and pizza and gelato was not as good as the original.
I do miss that original taste. The Salesians also had Italian Pizza and Pasta Making Classes, while they managed the original Amici Restaurant....i was one of the students then.
Amici restaurant now still manages to draw customers and they now have a wider menu. They still sell gelato. But the original taste is not there anymore....somehow, it is now more commercialized.

Talk about local-itallian version of pizza and pasta. It's the best what the locals can offer. Try out the Margherita Pizza with any of the pasta and you're in heaven for sure. Drown down yourself with the gellato and cakes after each meal.

Amici in Don Bosco Makati was one of my favorite Italian restaurants. It used to serve really good pastas and pizzas. Compared to it's original recipes, the taste now has changed and the prices went up. The price for a gelato is 75. Unlike in Cafe Ti Amo, there's no free taste of the gelatos. I suggest go for the pistachio flavor gelato. Sansrival gelato is also nice, but I like pistachio flavor more. The cake price ranges from 90-130 pesos per slice. If you like pesto, why not try the Parmigiano Pizza that has a pesto dip? Price is almost 200. Taste is really good, a must-try. In general pizza and pasta are still okay despite the change in recipe. Amici Don Bosco renovated it's place. It looks good, but I still love and miss the old cafeteria.
