When an Italian restaurant is owned and operated by the leading importer of Italian foodstuffs you expect good Italian food. Not so at Carpaccio.
OK, the beef carpaccio, parmesan, mozzarella, tomatoes and olive oil components of the starters were excellent. The two main course we terrible.
Sea bass at PhP 1,750 was a "portion control" serving, over-cooked and tasted "off". (Aubergine, a much more distinguished Manila eatery, charges PhP1,450 for their larger, perfectly cooked version.) So-called veal saltimbocca was inedible and came with a matching, over-salted sauce. It was sent back, the chef apologised for the saltiness (but not the ersatz veal) and we got one small dessert on the house as compensation but were still charged for the meat.
Our bottle of Valipolicella was very good but very over-priced.
