We had ants in our room but they kept to one corner - if you are a bit scared of insects this may be a problem. There was also a dead cockroach in the corner for the entire stay, even after we reported it. I don't think they hoovered our room the entire stay (2 weeks) and I never saw a single hoover in the hotel!
The pool area is not staffed and there is no way of contacting anyone for food or drinks - you have to go back to your room and order room service or go to the restaurant.
Very noisy area ALL the time and no double glazing.
Rooms are air conditioned which is necessary and there is free internet (it tends to crash about once a day but a call to reception will remedy this)
Only one hand towel for 2 people? Bit strange but they gave you 2 bath towels.
Unfortunately, I don't think I will stay there again as we wrote a complaint letter to the Manager and the reply was pretty insulting.
Sorry!

Room Tip: request an '01' or '02' room

It has taken a few months to get round to writing about our stay as we were locked in a battle with the hotel (as are now booking.com) over transactions made to our credit card in our absence after we had left the hotel.
We booked a 4 night stay and on the first night we didn't get a wink of sleep because of the scrap yard next to the hotel where there was an all night drinking party, continuous revving of car engines and caged guard dogs barking from 8pm until 8am - and then throughout the day. The streets around the hotel are 'not-safe' as described by the concierge and that we were advised to only take taxis from directly outside of the hotel. Taking all of these factors into consideration we approached the front desk and said that we felt unsafe in the hotel as we couldn't sleep (which is a basic necessity) and wished to check out. We were happy to pay for the night we had stayed and also offered to stay one more night so as not to put them out - but no more than that. Upon check out we had to have a 30 min conversation/argument with the hotel manager who eventually agreed to let us check out whilst only paying for the 2 nights we stayed rather than the 4 nights previously reserved.
We thanked Mr X and promptly checked out and into another hotel.
5 days later we were checking our credit card and saw that 2 days after we had left the hotel the Herald Suites had processed an unauthorised transaction in our absence. We called the hotel and were told that the manager had changed his mind and had charged us for the 2 nights that we hadn't stayed. I asked him who gave him authorisation to process the transaction and he said that booking.com had given him permission....Now I don't about you but as far as I'm aware booking.com didn't apply for my credit card, don't pay my bills and don't cook me eggs in the morning so I cannot presume to understand why the hotel thought it legal in any way to take my money with only booking.com's apparent permission. when we contacted Booking.com they told us this was not the case and in fact returned our money from their own pockets as they were horrified that the hotel had processed this transaction.
Now I could go on and on about this but the truth as an honest traveller and customer (perhaps more genuinely than all the 'excellent reviews' that have magically appeared since our stay) is that this hotel and the company running it are total amateurs and crooks and my sorrow goes out to anyone naive enough to read the good reviews and then book this hotel after taking their obviously over the top and sycophantic praise.
PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!! Take your time and book nearer Makati Avenue. It may have cool street names nearby but they cannot be walked and are barely safe to drive through.
The room was big though.......

I stayed here 2 nights over my Christmas holiday. The staff ensured a smooth and speedy check-in and check-out. We had to shuffle 1 of our rooms (I booked 2 for our family) and they made the adjustments without any problems. The location was in a fairly good part of town without any real worries of street crime and no bleed-over from any of the redlight district/party areas. There is very little street noise in the evening allowing for a sound and restfull evening. The area is close to shopping and just a short cab ride from bars and restaurants. The only bad thing about the location is that it is very difficult to get a taxi from the hotel and most taxis may not know how to get to the hotel.

We chose this hotel to stay and prepare for my wedding. We booked the presidential suite for me and my family, and the executive and junior suite (all located on the 8th floor) for my husband and his family. It is true that corridors might look dirty at first, maybe because of the lights they used or it is the natural color of the carpet, maybe they really allow smoking in the corridors(i haven't seen one though)but to a non-smoker like us we can still breath freely and the place doesn't smell odd. Upon entering the room we were really amaze, this a non-five-star hotel but the rooms are great. Very spacious, very clean, elegant, full of amenities and what more can i say, i just love the place..Staffs are very accommodating and will be very kind to assist you in everything you need. As we have used this place to dress up and took shots, they don't charge us any amount. All out guest, bridesmaids, sponsors and wedding suppliers(HMU,P&V, etc.) are all welcome and were also well assisted by them. As for the food, I was so busy that morning I just need to fill in my stomach and didn't bother to check if the food tastes good, all I know all of us were able to our food well and our tongues didn't complained. We extend the executive room for another night to stay after the wedding so we can still relax a little, this place is almost at the residential area so you are rest assured of the noise-free night. Even though this is not located in the heart of a very busy area, SM hypermarket and ministop are walking distance so food, drinks and other needs are not a problem. You would also want to have minutes ride to be at Makati business district or SM Mall of Asia. A lot I can say with just that 2 nights experience of staying in this hotel but the best of it, you can be guaranteed of all this service at a very reasonable price. We never asked for the promos or discounts because the moment they informed us of the room rates we are to avail, they have computed the rates on the best deal that we really cannot resist. I wish we had mo pics of the hotels as these are not still their best features.

I was required to stay overnight in Makati for I was working on a project. I wanted a place that had a reasonable rate and free wi-fi access for my research work. Because I have already tried hotels in the Makati Ave. area which most didn't offered free wi-fi access in their rooms, so I decided to check this place out.

I was able to negotiate for a weekend rate even it was still Friday. I and my partner took a "relaxing package" which aside from the aforementioned amenities that I needed included a full body massage, free use of the gym and sauna, local free calls, and breakfast in bed.

It is located in a one way direction so taxis may have a hard time locating the hotel but it is just parallel to the main road of Buendia Ave only going to the eastern direction.

I checked in around 3pm. Check in was fast. There was a problem if you're bringing a car for the hotel had really limited parking slots and no valet. If you're commuting, I guess it would not be problem.

The room was big enough. The wi-fi internet access was working well. Though the room and hallway looks dirty because as like the Herald Suites in Pasong Tamo, guests can smoke in the rooms.

There were no near restaurants nearby so we just tried the restaurant in the ground floor. The menu was very limited. You can order only Japanese food but steak is available. Steak costs around P854 (17 USD) while the Japanese will cost you P500+ (10 USD). We ordered Japanese food which tasted better than the fast food Japanese outlets available in the Makati Area. Though breakfast is available in Filipino and Intercontinental.

If you want to go outside to eat, you can easily hail out a cab outside the hotel and is probably around 10 minutes away from the Makati CBD and 20 minutes away from Mall of Asia.

They have a sauna and a swimming pool on the top floor that is in excellent condition though there is no available bar.

I recommend this because it is a good alternative if you're looking for a place in Makati that is fairly quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the business district. Service was great and I didn't have any complaints.
