Elderberry Pond is set in the peaceful, beautiful countryside of upstate NY. It is a brand-new building constructed to look like an original older edifice; lovely wood inside. One inside dining area and the patio seating overlook a wooded area, with sights of the crops and orchards in the distance. In the fall, the close-up area should be beautiful with color-change. (Open late March to the end of December.)

The food is out of this world!! All organic produce; meats from organic/sustainable farms; seafood flown in fresh. The day we ate there, in addition to the regular menu, there were a number of specials as entrees and one as appetizer, which we had: bruschetta -- individual pieces of homemade bread topped with heirloom tomatoes and a generous topping of homemade ricotta with fresh chives. Delicious!! Enough to share; with a soup, could have been a meal.

My dining partner had crab cakes (2) made from blue crab; little to no filler; tasty. This was served with a salad of field greens. I had the chicken sandwich: moist, tasty breast with Swiss cheese topped with an heirloom tomato; I also had their salad of the day, cucumber and onion. Tasty; not as "vinegary" as some, also not quite as sweet as some.

Befitting the season, the vast array of desserts included several with fresh blueberries. My dining partner had a lemon and blueberry topped with a bit of home-made whipped cream and mint. She loved it!! Since I don't like blueberries, but do like chocolate, I had the chocolate four-less cake --- wonderful. This was served with two generous dollops of fresh home-made whipped cream. Fantastic!! (chocolate was not overbearing as can sometimes be the case with chocolate four-less cake)

Dominic, our server, was great -- friendly, talkative (but not too much so), humorous, informative (had the entire dessert menu -- which was extensive -- memorized!), good diction; attentive to our needs; good timing. Dominic deserves great commendation.

Highly recommend this wonderful establishment!!!

Had great meal. We were not expecting what we experienced Awesome service ,food and ambiance in a somewhat remote location. High end restaurant in a very tranquil environment. Mark of a great restaurant is to get patrons to return-that was accomplished and much more.

I love this place. We come here several times a year, and always enjoy ourselves, whether it's a special Easter or Thanksgiving feast, or just a pleasant summer evening meal. The food is fantastic, and gloriously fresh. The atmosphere is low-key and delightful, as is the service. I don't know why anyone would complain about portion size; we always have leftovers (yum!). What can be better than a table overlooking the very fields from which a large part of one's meal just came?! And with a bottle of reasonably-priced organic wine? I'm getting hungry just writing about it; guess it's time to call for another reservation.

This restaurant was truly out in the middle of nowhere (although not too far from town) in a lovely area. The food was very good, although very expensive. It was nice to treat ourselves to food without chemicals and processed ingredients.
