This is a historic house that has never fallen into disrepair and contains a huge portion of original family furniture and other artifacts. It's a beautiful home with so much to see. The tour guide we had was incredibly knowledgeable and I learned a lot about Secretary of State Seward.

A MUST for history buffs. Great tour of the home, preserved in Lincoln-era furnishings and artifacts.

We were staying in the Finger Lakes last September (2011) and decided to visit the Seward House (Museum) in Auburn. We spent about an hour and a half in the museum and were glad that we did. It is an excellent museum which was the home of Lincoln’s (and Andrew Johnson’s) Secretary of State. If anybody is a “history buff”, they should consider visiting this museum; it has original furnishings and mementos of William H. Seward’s career.

I’m writing this review some 10 months later because I was discussing the museum with a close friend who likes history and will be traveling in the area and I realized that I never submitted a review of our visit. Even though our visit was 10 months ago, I’m sure the museum remains the same.
