What I know about the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center is their annual quilt show, which is always wonderful. The quilts are art quilts and may be 2D or 3D and be made of all kinds of exotic materials. The show is well curated and always a joy to view.

Well-done exhibits of art of local interest and pieces whose interest goes far beyond local history. I can't think of anything that anyone would dislike here.

well done displays of a variety of art pieces.

We visited this past weekend and loved the "Made in NY" show. The exhibits and installations were very impressive for such a small place. We look forward to re-visiting as new shows are offered. Also, visit the Cayuga Museum of Art and History - right next door! Big building, but only a couple of historical signs outside. Out back, you can walk thru the "Birthplace of Talking Motion Pictures"...no kidding. The inside has worthwhile exhibits too, not to mention a beautiful 19th century home with a Tiffany window.

While a small gallery space, the Schweinfurth exhibits a wide range of art from contemporary art quilts in Quilts =Art= Quilts to the talents of New York State artists in the current show Made in New York. The gift shop is great for local crafts and other fine gifts with a twist. They participate in "First Friday", a community open house plus Openings, concerts, lectures, artist tours, poetry readings, art camp for kids and so much more.
