“Went on a whim - NICE place. Will return for a special occasion”
Reviewed September 15, 2011

We decided to go to the Springside inn and stay overnight because we saw an ad in the paper for a Nashville Singer (Karla Davis) that was playing there the same night. We made reservations and luckily had a room for us the same day we called. Beautiful grounds. Plenty of parking. The building is older but very well kept up. Our room was extremely clean. It had a TV and a phone. The bathroom we were in had a large claw-foot tub and stand up shower. Bathroom also extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable - ahhhhh....

The dining room was closed for the show - BUT - they offered hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, clams, lobster salad, sausage sandwiches, salads. It was a special for the show that was in the Ballroom. My husband and I both got the chicken sandwiches (fancy chicken sandwiches and delicious). We figured since they made those sandwiches so good, we definitely want to go back for a nice dinner - probably our anniversary. The restaurant that was set up for dinner, but closed off to people was very pretty. Looks like it would be for a special dinner (like our anniversary).

The Ballroom was a pretty room - would love to have a wedding there. (They also had a gazebo and seats set up outside for a wedding - so you can get married right there on the grounds.)

The area of Auburn NY that the Inn is located is a very pretty lakeside town. Beautiful large houses - lovely to drive around an look at. There is not much else around within walking distance - but if I went it would be for a romantic dinner and room overnight. Don't need to go anyplace else.

the City of Auburn is very close and there seems to be some fun pubs there (seen on TripAdvisor).

By the way, Karla Davis - look for her. She is pretty and extremely talented. She is going to make a second album. She previewed 3 of her new songs she will record on the album and loved 2 of them. I hope she does well in Nashville. She is not only talented, but very personable. She really seems like she has a great personality - very nice.

We will DEFINITELY return to the Springside Inn.

Room Tip: Make sure you follow up your online reservation with a phone call if making a reservation the same d...

We stayed two nights during our visit to the Finger Lakes region. The inn has a pretty location on a large property, with a pond, set well back from the road. We were upgraded to the large and tastefully decorated 3rd floor suite with four poster king size bed and large sitting area with a TV. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and clean with a jet tub and a shower. During our stay the friendly owner and staff made us feel very welcome. Both nights we dined in the Inn's fine restaurant and enjoyed it; a separate review covers that. Note that only a minimal breakfast of coffee and continental offerings are available on site. We hated to leave and hope one day to return to this beautiful area and to the Springside Inn.

We stayed at the Springside Inn for one night. Travelling with 3 children, we found the room very spacious and comfortable (and also quite charming!). The staff were extremely friendly and we would definitely stay again if we were in the region.

My friend Dan and I recently completed a trip to the Finger Lakes of NY. We had booked reservations for every night but the last, as we did not know where we would finish the day. We decided to stop in Auburn, and called the Springside Inn (we had driven by it earlier in the week and thought it looked charming). It is an 1851 Inn across the street from Owasco Lake.
Fortunately they had a room available, and the price was amazing at $110 (Tuesday night).
When we arrived, Katie greeted us and informed us that she was going to upgrade us to an available suite. We climbed the stairs to the third floor, and when we saw Room 31, I actually hugged Katie! This was the perfect ending to a perfect vacation. The King sized carved 4 poster bed, separate sitting room with sink/refrig/TV, and bathroom with corner soaking jacuzzi and separate shower, along with a complementary bottle of the local Finger Lakes "Salmon Run" Riesling were far more than I could have imagined.
The Inn also has a lovely Restaurant and Bar. We ate at the bar, tended by Lisa who brought me my Duck L'Orange. She poured brandy over it and flambee'd it- delicious! Dan had a great Chicken Picata. We were fortunate to meet the owner, Sean, who made a point of speaking with everyone- a charming host. When we left in the morning, Sean came outside to say good-bye.
As we drove away, Dan said "It's a good thing we stayed here on our last night, because all of the other places we stayed would have paled by comparison."

Sean and Beth kindly got us there and provided a suite on the Sunday of the October holiday weekend. The jacuzzi felt great after a long drive. If an older historic inn can look beat up or too old, this was not the case; All was up to date and very welcoming; I loved the breakfast on the Porch! I can understand why it's a common Wedding location.

What a lovely place to stay. The owner made us feel like family from the time we pulled up the drive. Wine in our room. Assistance carring in bags. Friendly, relaxed conversations at the bar. The resturant food was excellant..

We have stayed at Hotels, Inns and Bed & Breakfast all around New York State and It always comes back to The Springside Inn as number one!
They are the whole package!
This charming Historic Inn Located on stunning Owasco Lake offers a perfect getaway stay. The rooms at the Inn are clean and finely appointed with warm woods and the most comfortable beds I have ever experienced, and the sheets.....Heaven.
The Restaurant extends 5 star service in a charmingly casual setting, The food is superb, the prices are great and the staff are professional, classy and down to earth friendly.
The owners, a husband and wife team are the essence of the Springside Inn. As you can imagine owning and operating an Inn is hard work but you would never know it by their welcoming smiles and friendly personalities. If they are having a bad day you will never know it, they are all about you and making your stay comfortable.

What not to miss while here,
Sleeping in (in the heavenly comfortable beds,oh, did I already mention this? :-)
Dinner every night n the dining room or in your guestroom.
Tour the Inn and ask/read about it's history, check out the scrapbook and see who has also stayed there. Hints: The Lollypop Guild and a famous female senator!
Sunday brunch (the CHEESE SOUFFLE) = YUM to the tenth power! (also on the Dinner menu thank God)
A stroll around the lovely grounds
A show at the Merry Go Round Playhouse
A boat outing on Owasco Lake
Tour the Wonderful Agricultural Museum!
Go to the Local Drive Inn Movie!
Tour Harriet Tubman's House
Also close to the Mall, Bass Pro, etc commercial establishments if you really "Have to'.

If you are looking for a Quiet, charming, luxuriously cozy and romantic place to stay do yourself a big favor and skip all the other places and stay here at the Springside a little piece of happily ever after right out of a storybook.
