Breathtaking view and sea of clouds. Easiest climb for beginners. The experience is one of a kind. Best sunrise ever.

So impressed by the sea of clouds at the top of Mt. Pulag. I treasured this experience in climbing the peak of Pulag though the trail that we trekked are not so challenging...using the Ambangeg - Ambangeg trial. Next time, we will use the Akiki-Ambangeg trail for more challenge.

After climbing Mt. Pulag, it completed my goal to climb the 4 highest mountains in the Philippines...from Mt. Apo (1st), Mt. Dulang-dulang (2nd), Mt. Pulag (3rd) & Mt. Kitanglad (4th).

A nice family bonding for 4 of us - my wife and 2 kids.

So easy to climb Mt. Pulag if you use Amabangeg-Ambangeg trail.

If you are on budget, try this:
120 - Van (Slaughter House terminal) Baguio to DENR office (Kabayan)
200 - Habal-habal (motor) DENR to Ranger station in Ambageg
355 - Fees each climber including 100 guide fee for a group of 5 person (500 per guide)
200 - Habal -habal - Ranger Station to DENR
120 - Van - DENR Kabayan to Baguio
995 - Total estimated expenses excluding food and porter (if you need one).

Make sure also to equip yourself with the needed equipments, clothing, etc. that is suited for a cold weather. Think of hypothermia when you climb Mt. Pulag....

Try Mt. Pulag adventure!

The best part of the whole trip was to reach the summit. The view from the summit was breathtaking (not to mention the cold temperature that we had to endure) and it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. I am recommending this especially to my fellow Cordillerans who have yet to tick this off their bucket list. Just make sure to have enough supply of food and water as you go up the mountain.

The whole experience is unique for any local. The weather and landscape is much different than the usual tropical area. I would recommend going during the dry season to avoid a foggy top and bad weather. Use a tent with a rain fly for dry comfort in case it rains. Bring some sort to rain gear for bad weather. Make sure your clothing is suited for cold weather also. If you want to sleep comfortably warm, a down sleeping bag and a sleeping pad does the trick. Travel with a group so they can take care of arrangements with transportation and other fees. Find a group that costs around 2,000 PHP per person if budget conscious. For beginners, take the Ambangeg trail.

Forest, grassland, mountains, sunrise. It was all worth the effort, the rain, the rather tiresome (for me) trek all the way up to the peak. Seeing the sunrise from the peak of Luzon is just wonderfully breathtaking. Given a chance, don't miss climbing Mt. Pulag. Make sure you reach the peak.
