The perfect hide away in Baguio City where you can still enjoy the quiet and cool mountain resort yet near the bustle of city center. It is also great for business as it has wifi, business center and very attentive staff who can ensure that everything that you need is taken cared of. Stayed here numerous times from solo trips to bringing in a whole team with very pressing timetable and all went smooth.

For a family, the one bedrooms suite with balcony is perfect.

Its cold so there is no pool and the gym is basic but the perfect work out is running the hills outside !!

They have discounted rates as well during off season.

Room Tip: get the rooms facing the garden with a balcony.

Have stayed several times but this time went for the two bedroom suite and what a fantastic suite it was.
We are a normal working family but you are made to feel like royalty by the staff.

I traveled to Baguio on a business trip without really knowing where I was booked to stay. I knew the history of the area being a former military camp but did not look into it more. So arriving at the Manor at Camp John Hay was a great surprise.

Everything at the Manor at Camp John Hay was top quality

The fit out of the rooms, the beds, the amenities the mini bar items, the public areas, the food and service were all top quality.

It's a little bit out of the main town, but that's a good thing considering how overcrowded Baguio has become.

Only complaint was the incredibly loud musicians playing in the main public area. Because of the construction of the building it amplified the sounds funneling it up to the accommodation areas. But this is a small thing in the big picture.

I don't think the pricing was really good value, but the pricing was in line with the type of property in the Philippines.

Food and restaurant were top class. The public restrooms are out of this world with quality and cleanliness.

A short walk down the road is the high class shopping area associated with Camp John Hay which also has some eateries and bar areas.

Whatever your reason for being in Baguio, you can't get better than this for a place to stay.

Top Class.

My husband and I stayed at The Manor for two nights. We had a great and very relaxing weekend indeed! The ambiance was the best in Baguio. Our room overlooked the forest. We would have wanted to stay in a room overlooking the garden but unfortunately none was available that time. The superior room was big with 2 double beds, flat screen tv, refrigerator and safe. All the staff we encountered were cheerful and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay that we are already planning our Christmas vacation there.

Room Tip: Visit their bakeshop. The stuff there are yummy.

For the approximately one week we stayed there, they had hammering at 8:30 am. every day and stops before noon. Inspite of repeated calls, and request made to the front desk, nothing was done.

We stayed in a two person room but was only given one key. We were advised that only one key is given. But the security guard would assist in opening the door. I requested for assistance for one night and the security could not open the door. After promises to give us an extra key, we never received another key.

They are friendly but NOTHING will get done if you need something. If you have certain issues, They will smile at you and say they will advise that department/person. But nothing will get done.

The valet people and the room cleaners are very nice though. It is a beautiful hotel. But overall, it was stressful and aggravating staying in this hotel. It was extremely disappointing.

The hotel's common spaces are phenomenal; there is no doubt about it. I felt that the room where I stayed was a bit too shabby for the price paid. I recommend the hotel invest money into making the rooms nicer (get rid of the threadbare carpets, repaint the walls, etc). Additionally, the reception did not make it clear that there were going to be late night music performances, and they placed me right near the dining hall where the performances were happening. I was out of the hotel 14 hours at a time and would come in too late at night to bother requesting a change. I was on a business trip, so the hotel service lacks forward thinking on their part - a person on a business trip would need to be in a rather quiet part of the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel for those traveling on business.

Room Tip: away from the dining hall

We occupied a 2-bedroom suite for 2 nights. The room was well-appointed, the cleanliness and the overall ambiance were commendable. The hotel, including the lobby, is quite impressive. What taints the good impression is the lousy customer service at the front desk paling in comparison to other hotels we have stayed in such as Ascott, Shangrila, New Word and even hotels in Europe and the US where we were immediately attended to graciously and with a Smile.

To recapitulate, a guy at the front desk accepted our phoned-in request for the preparation of our bill for us to check out of the hotel without any hitch. When we came down from our room, my husband approached the front desk and asked the receptionist to process our check out. Then a woman callously cut in and wanted to be served first. Without any explanation, the receptionist turned to this woman and attended to her, leaving my husband enraged by the blatant display of rudeness. Left wondering why we had been unceremoniously ignored, I turned to the other receptionist, a guy, who didn't bother to attend to us without us asking him. He was busy doing something else and never even bothered to look up and assist us when the other receptionist decided to ignore us. I blew my top and asked to speak to the manager. Unfortunately, the guy was the manager on duty. I angrily told him about what transpired but it seemed futile to get him to act on our complaint since he was trying to cover up for the other receptionist. I told him that I got fed up with her attitude because she also ignored us for quite sometime when we checked in. And when we finally decided to approach her, she was frowning and was unpleasant. This girl has an attitude problem! She talks to foreigners and entertains them differently. She is also beholden to show-offs who strut around pretending to be such prima donnas.

It was a mistake staying at this hotel with the customer service found wanting. We also had to call several times to ask for toiletries and slippers because the supply in the room was for 3 guests only and we were 7. Sadly, the front desk & housekeeping are inefficient and don't pay attention to details. They kept on mixing up these requests. They also don't replenish the coffee, tea, sugar & cream supply in the room. There was also an instance when they mistakenly gave us an electric fan alleging that we called and need one for our baby. I insisted that we never made the call since we don't have a baby in the room. Our son is already 15 years old...

In the Philippines, Makati Shangrila is our favorite hotel because of the impeccable service. People at the front desk don't discriminate guests, are respectful, pleasant and very efficient. In fairness, the girl at the front desk of Camp John Hay (The Manor) apologized for her behavior on the pretext that they were busy when we checked in. I know for a fact that as a frontliner, she should never justify that being busy is reason enough to ignore and frown at a customer because that customer is the lifeblood of the business as well as the source of her paycheck. But it's too late, the damage has been done. We are not coming back!
