When you walk in to the restaurant you think the place is very clean but a little kickback. Then you are greeted by the nicest people you will ever meet and treated like family. The food is Malaysian and it is the real deal, I am taking about the kinda of food you will brag about to all and you will make it your new place to eat! Yahoo! Great food by great people !!

Went there with my husband as we were both home sick (we are Singaporeans) & are drawn to the restaurant with recommendations from various website. Would like to say the food is average but there's a huge variant of Asian food served at the restaurant compared to many restaurants serving Asian food in Manila (the only place we go to is Huey Ying at Macapagal in Manila) . Would highly recommend the sweet & sour pork & the crispy papaya salad which the latter is a modification to the traditional thai green papaya salad... Shredded green papaya fried to perfection & tossed in the sweet & savory thai dressing. We ordered the teh Tarik but you can really give it a miss as it's not freshly brewed, from the first sip I know it's made from the instant 3-in-1 pre-mix sachet.. The tom yam soup was a let down too as it was too salty that we had it sent back to the kitchen...Was really disappointed ! On second thoughts, the taste might be altered to the taste buds of Filipinos ...My review might be biased as I've not tried everything on the menu yet bt my husband & I most probably would not return to the restaurant again, as both of us find that it's pretty pricey too.

Received text from Gina, owner and wife of Chef Alvin, sometime Oct 2013 about it's re-opening in new (original) location: "SELAMAT DATANG! SAWADEE dear patrons,
Chef's Home is now back to its original location at #13 Purok 3, Outlook Drive. So come on over, sit down, relax and dine to all your favourite cuisine of Taste of Asia Mon- Sat 11am-3pm / 6-9pm."
But it was only quite recently that we finally got back to Chef's Home. Hole in the Wall, carinderia type, no frills, just the good ol' crispy Thai Papaya Salad and Salt/Pepper Squid capped with a Roti dessert. We were just glad to be here and get a taste of their good food again.

We tried their deep fried chicken, cream dory and their vanilla ice cream with crispy roti, sesame seeds and peaches. They were really good. Serving size can be good for 2. We also liked their nasi goreng.

The place is just beside the Baguio Townhouse. It's a small place with a carenderia feel to it. Overall a must-try.
