I tried Star Cafe after few locals recommended it. This is one of the oldest restaurant in Baguio. It's located in lower Session road, quite easy to find.
The restaurant is clean, the interiors, glassware, and ambiance is definitely 70's. Even most of the waiters I believe was nearing 70 years old. :) it's likely the staff have worked there since it opened... Service was okay, fast and attentive waiters.
The retaurant specializes on Chinese food, Pansit, stir-fry vegetables, short orders and the like. I ordered their special Pancit canton, Camaron rebosado, and their Adobo roll baked by themselves. Food was average, nothing special, but has freshness.. Well when you are in Baguio, most restaurant serves fresh ingredients.
Now that I have tried one of Baguio's local pride, I'd say it was mainly the reasonable prices why people go back. You can get better tasting Chinese food somewhere else, but cannot beat the economical prices at Star Cafe. I commend the owners for maintaining the prices close to 70's era too.. Amazing!

With all the reviews previously read, I guess I expected too much from this restaurant. It's just so-so for Chinese food. You won't miss out on anything if this was taken out from your Baguio itinerary. The quantity of food was good though.

Star Cafe has been serving Baguio tourists for many years. The serving is generous, food tastes better than other chinese retaurants in Baguio. Food cost is just fine.

My parents have known this restaurant for as far as i could remember. Affordable selections of Chinese and Filipino food have filled and fulfilled the tummies of Baguio Denizens for ages. One of my mom's favorite take-out restaurants especially for pata-tim and their tasty pancit selection.

Whenever my gal and I are in Baguio, which is about once a month or more, we try to make it a point to stop by the Star Cafe.

The owner has his staff on the ball. The service is quick, even when it is crowded at meal times, which it typically is.

She opts for the pancit canton, which she rates as the absolute best in the entire country. On the other hand, I had the spicy beef and it was excellent. The noodles are handmade, and even the soy sauce is made in house.

All the meals are freshly cooked. No frozen, microwaved crap served here! Moreover, this is authentic Cantonese food and very affordable.

If you're walking down Session Rd you can't help but see it. It is one of Baguio's original restaurants.

Finally, the restaurant is a 3rd generation establishment, so they know how to run an eatery.

If you like authentic Chinese food and fast, courteous service, you can't go wrong here.
