A familiar place in an ever changing city.

You can still find the cafe in the middle of the city. This place brings back so many wonderful memories. First, they still have some of their classic eats like the baked breads, local dessers (suman, naticve hot chocolate, and other sweets), and adobo! Second, its a nice quiet place (on most days) in the middle of a busy city. Third, service is always good.

We especially love the tinapa, bagnet, kamote bread, pandan iced tea, and benguet coffee!

After spending a day in the smog that is Baguio, my family and I were looking for somewhere good to eat. We found it at Cafe by the Ruins. When our cab pulled up to the restaurant, we thought we were in the wrong place because it did not have the facade of a restaurant. We were immediately greeted and seated by smiling faces. The menu had lots of traditional American and Filipino dishes, but it also has some fusion type dishes. My three year old really enjoyed her mango shake, my mom loved her sinigang, my husband liked his pasta dish...I could go on and on. From the appetizers to the main dishes to the sweets we brought home, we were very happy with our food. There were so many choices sure to please everyone's taste. The staff was very attentive. The ambiance was nice. Some might find the meals expensive, we thought it was worth it. If you go, read the history on the back of the menu. It made us appreciate the place just a tad bit more.

The winds of change have harshly swept through Baguio, it seems. But it is a relief to find familiar places that bring back pleasant memories of old Baguio like Rose Bowl Restaurant and Café by the Ruins. Café by the Ruins is still the same good old place to enjoy a pleasurable meal and savor Baguio. The restaurant has even undergone improvements I noticed. The interior is pleasantly made up with artistic accents. The food is delightful, the strawberry soda is very refreshing and so are the salad dishes. The service is excellent, the staffs are courteous, attentive and thoroughly familiar with the food they serve.
I think timing is key to enjoying this place, we were there past lunch hour and there were just few tables occupied and so it was nice and quiet. Highly recommended!

A place with ambiance and good food reasonably priced. A menu with a good choice and an attentive service. Not pretentious.

Had breakfast here with the family and had a great experience. Food is a bit expensive but the taste, quality and ambiance makes it worth your money. Garden like environment gives you a fresh feel while having breakfast. Meals come with fruits and coffee supplemented with muscovado as alternative to sugar. Really recommend this restaurant.
