“Affordable and close to everything!”
Reviewed January 13, 2014 via mobile

If you are looking for an affordable place when you are in Baguio City, and you want to be where everything is, La Brea Inn is for you! Located along Session Road, it is a few meters away from Burnham park, Baguio Cathedral, SM Baguio, the public market, and the thrift stores.

Staff is very friendly - they can give you tips on where to eat, what to see, and even provide you food delivery numbers and utensils if you decide to not to go out. There's even snacks available in the front desk. Price is very reasonable, internet is strong, and you feel right at home.

I have stayed here every year for the New Year's celebrations and it offers one of the best views of the fireworks display at Burnham Park and SM. I have yet to try it during the Panagbenga festival, I'm sure it's going to be more pleasurable compared to being on the streets.

I arrived in Baguio last Dec 30, 2013 around 7am with the hope that ill be finding a place to stay right away. I normally stay at Belfrant hotel since it's being owned by a family closed friend but unfortunately it was fully booked and they cannot guarantee that room will be available right away. Accidentally I passed through Session Road and seen La Brea Inn along the street. The hotel was on a 4th floor of one old bldg so I didnt expect that much. I t was never attractivre, nonetheless, i took the risk. When i arrived into the lobby, people are very much accommodating. Above average so to speak. I got my room as early as 9am. I stayed at their lobby for few hours but nonetheless, i felt that i was welcome. I stayed on room 401, besides the front desk so i felt secured. Rooms are really reasonably cheap. Location was priceless. It was a quiet place to stay and everything is just around the corner. I promise to myself that this will be my first choice next time i go to Baguio.

Room Tip: COme with less expectation and you'll be satisfied. Not a fancy place to stay but a comfortable...

Stayed here for two nights in July 2013 for 1000 pesos a night in room 505. Reception was friendly, location was great, right in downtown near Burnham park and within walking distance of travel options. Hotel is on 4th and 5th floors of a multi-use building with various other businesses like a singles bar and a massage shop (Neither visited). Room had good Wi-fi signal and cable TV. Furnishings were ragged and run down. Toilet wouldn't stop running necessitating some user adjustment. The blanket was too thin and I slept very cold the first night before acquiring a second blanket for the second night.

Room Tip: Room 505 has an outside window with an uninteresting view. Can't speak for any other.

I booked a room at this hotel for a 2 night stay in January of 2010, for a pre-Panangbenga vacation.

I, together with three of my friends, stayed here and all we can say is that when it comes to convenience, THIS is DEFINITELY the place to be. It's situated along Session Road so dining and strolling along the city's major spots i.e. SM Baguio, Burnham Park, Melvin Jones, etc. is no problem.

The only thing though is that you have to climb the stairs up to the 3rd floor where the frontdesk is. First floor is occupied by Yellow Cab and Chow King; second floor is a local bar.

We were given a fan room (Aircon is not needed in Baguio since climate is cool) with a small window overlooking Session Road equipped 2 doubles.

The room is okay. It was clean but the aging paint and tiles make it look like messy. Hot water is good but it could have been better if the shower has more power. TV is a 24-inch jurassic. Beds were okay; linens are clean.

Baguio is a great city (I attended college here for 2 years), but since this rating is for the hotel, I haven't seen anything impressive except for its proximity to the city's major spots.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a great shower power so it won't take decades for you to finish taking a bat...

This year is our third time to check in La Brea as it is just along Session Road. How convenient can it get, right? It's almost across McDonalds and on the first floor is Yellow Cab Pizza. The place is bustling and it's super inexpensive. For P1300 per night for triple sharing and P1100 for twin sharing, how can you complain?

We first learned about this on an unplanned trip to Baguio almost 8 years ago. We loved the location, the simplicity of the rooms, and the low fares. Back then, it was spic and span clean. On our second visit, it was still clean. But this year, we were surprised and disgusted at how unmaintained it has become. The door knob of the bathroom is dislocated, the sink has hair, the floor is dirty, the headboard is so dusty, and the bathroom slippers are so yucky we didn't use it at all.

Room Tip: The room that my mom and sister got, which is located on the sixth floor is much cleaner than ours...

since we are 4 in a group, and would like to be in the city, this inn is quite perfect for us. it is along session road very accessible, we only have to walk up to sm baguio or walk down to the market and burnham park. if you are on a budget this is the place to stay.
