The magical rainbow. Nice reconstruction. Helps piece together the extent of this amazing citadel.
It is part of the Chan Chan experience so do go if if is en route. We had a guide and she explained it well.
Good shop at entrance.

This small temple is worth a visit on your way to Chan Chan, to give you a sense of the scope of the Chimu culture. An entire wall has been excavated to reveal stunning carvings of a rainbow, and what some archaeologists believe are male and female symbols of fertility. The carvings of the rainbow and rain reinforce the importance of water for this agriculture-based culture in the desert.

Some nice wall art. Not much else. In a horrid part of town. No explanation so have a guide book. Scruffy entrance etc.... Not loved!

This pyramid is small, by comparison to what's around in the general area, but the carved designs on the walls are pretty cool. Once you climb to the top unfortunately all you see is an ugly 360 view of the city and slums.
