Sheets thin as single-ply toilet paper, router just outside our door flashed impotently giving no promised WIFI but the towels were thick and great. We paid the same in Lima for MUCH more service and room, and working WIFI. Noisy room at back, thin windows unfitted in location. Get thee somewhere else!

An okay choice for a stay in Trujillo, although you should definitely look around at other hotels in town if you're able to.

Location - by far the hotel's best feature. One block from the pedestrian street (Pizarro St), 4-5 blocks from the Plaza. As is often the case, TA has the wrong location marked for this hotel.

Room - decent sized though a bit dated. The bathroom was generally spotless, but the carpet and comforter on the bed both looked and smelled like they hadn't been cleaned since they were installed. Our room was unfortunately above the street which made it VERY noisy. Try to get a room in the back of the building if at all possible.

Staff - ranged from friendly and helpful to surly and clueless depending on who you dealt with. At check-out the lady at the front desk tried to charge me for an extra night despite the fact that she was looking right at the computer.

Breakfast - Your standard Peruvian hotel breakfast of two eggs (scrambled or fried), some cold rolls or bread, coffee and juice. On our last day there my fried eggs were well-done to the point of being inedible, but the other breakfasts were just fine.

Overall, a completely average experience. I guess I'd recommend it, but not glowingly As I mentioned, look around at some other hotels in town first if you get a chance as you can probably find a better option at this price point.

We stayed in the suite with the jacuzzi tub. It had a fridge with drinks and snacks. Although the snacks were pricier than the store, they were not exorbitant. The hotel is located a few blocks from the main square. The shower was excellent, nice water pressure and plenty of hot water (not a common finding in Peruvian hotels). The price was fair. The service was excellent. They held our bags all day and even let us drop additional stuff we had acquired during our tours (on a side note, if you are in Trujillo the "El Brujo" tour is a must). You can also elect to pay one half the daily rate and check out at 9PM. Overall we really enjoyed this hotel.

Room Tip: Suites are on the street side which are noisier

I am a mother with two teenage children (13 and 18), we were travelling to Peru to visit their grandparents in Lima. To take a small vacation within Peru, we decided to take a bus to Trujillo in the North to try and find the sun. We had been desperatley trying to find a budget hotel in the Centro Historico of Trujillo, that was still comfortable. My son (13) managed ti look online and of the many hotels we saw listed we thought the Korianka looked like the best. We were expecting a little less than the website descripted, but as soon as we stepped into the hotel, the staff was right there to help us with our small amount of luggage and help us get accomadted into our room. The room we had reserved was a triple room with three beds, the only triple rooms are all facing the street, we all wanted to get some sleep in and thought it would be too loud to sleep near the street, so we called the main desk and said they could arrange to have our room in the back with the window facing a small courtyard, (while mainting the three beds desired) They were efficient and so helpful it was amazing, never in my 20 years of traveling throughout Peru have i stayed in a hotel with such clean rooms, and helpful staff members. The room was clean, and simple. With the softest, most comfortable beds, I´ve ever slept in! The rooms had all been recently remodled and all had quite modern, tiled bathrooms. The showers in this hotel, are hot, have amazing water pressure and are large and roomy. No tight squeeze showers here. Best shower in Peru, by far. Ive stayed in hostals, hotels, and resorts and the showers her are pure luxury. The price for this luxury, cost us only about 60 dollars a night. A steal for such an amazing hotel. The hotel is centrally located just four blocks from the Plaza de Armas, and near the pedestrian only, Avenida Pizzaro. It is also close to many cafes and bars were we would go and have some breakfast or pastires in the morning. The thing about the hotel is its only main guests are people in Trujillo for business just looking for a place to sleep. It is not a tourist ¨hot spot¨ which I thought was odd considsering the low prices and friendly staff. I hope to ensure the Korianka many new guests in the following years, to help this true hidden gem up to the top hotels of Trujillo.

The review titled "Pleasant stay" does a pretty good job describing the hotels strengths & weaknesses. However, we didn't find the service to be all that great, but for one woman who was very helpful. The hotel also backs onto an art school, so if you don't like people practicing the wedding march or hearing band practice, bring earplugs. The usual mold was also present on the ceiling, otherwise everything was clean, if somewhat small. The most disappointing things were the stale bread for breakfast, as well as their stinginess with the jam and margarine, although the fresh juice was excellent. They also failed to pick us up at the airport, in spite of prior arrangement to pick us up, and were not at all apologetic about it when we finally did arrive. For now, this is probably one of the better hotels in Trujillo, but as competition gets tighter I think they'll have to shape up.

Good location, comfortable, friendly staff. Nothing to complain about it. Ask for discounts for foreign visitors.

We stayed at the Korianka for 3 nights after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. When researching accommodation my wife and I look for clean, comfortable, seemingly customer-focussed hotels at a moderate price. The Korianka seemed to be such a place, and we subsequently found that it was. It isn't perfect, but then the deficiencies must be balanced against the price charged. I guess it would be perhaps three star standard, or slightly above.
In summary, we were quite happy with our stay. The reception area is very tidy and well presented with a doorman to keep riff-raff out. Martha, the receptionist , spoke reasonable english and was very helpful. Our room (a matrimonial room i.e. double bed) was not large but it was adequate for our purposes - after all it was essentially just being used to sleep in. The bathroom was very clean and of a good size with plenty of hot water. Simple toiletries (shampoo and soap) were provided. The room had cable TV, with the TV hung from the ceiling. You could watch it whilst lying in bed, and it was a sensible way to maximise the room's limited space. There were two small bedside tables, and a small round general-purpose table with a solitary chair. There was also a built-in wardrobe/drawer. No refrigerator, and only one drinking glass. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet (perhaps because it was Easter we had no school noise that other reviewers have mentioned). The room was serviced daily.
Complimentary internet was available on the first floor. Our price included breakfast, comprising fresh juice, bread rolls, jam, tea or coffee, and cooked eggs (fried or scrambled).
Location is very good-about 4 blocks from the main square and around the corner from a number of good restaurants and a supermarket.
We would return to the hotel and I recommend it to people seeking good standard accommodation at a reasonable price.
