Many of our clothes were torn when they were returned from the laundry in the hotel. Not great considering how much we paid to have it done! Other than that not a bad hotel. Friendly staff and very central. Pricey though considering that it is only a 3 star hotel.

Dear Donna,

Your comments make us improve the quality of our services.
We´ve never received any complaint about your clothes in the frontdesk in Puno, so its very weird recive your complaint 10 days after you left the hotel.
Maybe you had cleaned your clothes again in another city.
The cost for laundry is very cheap only US$ 2.5 per kg and we offer the most competitive prices in Puno for the hotel and extra services.
We hope when your return to Puno you could give us a oportunity to make the things better than your last stay.
Regards,

A lovely hotel situated on the main square.
Lovely views (ask for a room overlooking the square) if you book ahead.
Book via booking.com where you will pay less than half price.
Our room on arrival was really cramped. On request we were moved to a front room with view of the square and church.
A very short walk takes you to the shops and restaurants. The choice is vast so take time to wander around.
Breakfast at the hotel is the only disappointment. One waiter yet four cooks visible.
We had to ask for eggs and bread to be replenished as they appeared not to do so unless asked.
Front desl very helpful

Room Tip: Mus request a front room overlooking square

This hotel was the best hotel of our trip to Peru. The rooms were very modern. The decor of the hotel was much better than any of the others in the area. The service of the staff was above average. The bathroom rivaled anything from any four-star hotel, with great amenities, marble flooring and great fixtures.

The bedding was very comfortable. Covers, sheets and linens were all very clean. Lots of outlets to charge electronic devices. DirectTV with many channels in English and Spanish.

However, the check-in process was very disturbing for us. We booked the hotel on the Plaza and notified the hotel that we would be checking in late. We were told that the hotel was full and we would be in their "other" hotel. The other hotel was only one block off of the plaza, so in the end, it was no big deal. As a matter of fact, the restaurant and services were better in the "overflow" hotel. However, after a 12-hour bus ride from Cusco (with a three-hour breakdown), I didn't really want any more problems... expecially those unexpected ones.

One other problem also, which has not been resolved. The hotel requested payment in cash, but I used a credit card to "hold" the reservation. Once I got home, I noticed that my credit card was charged for one night. I am still attempting to resolve this issue.

We stayed twice either side of a trip to Amantanti. Very good value when booked at the last minute online as they have only been open a year and are still building custom and reputation. Watch out for their sister hotel a couple of blocks away where the taxi dropped us though! A very decent hotel for Peru!

We liked:

- Bath (not that common in Peru)
- Very comfy beds with extra big pillows
- free Oxygen if you get altitude sickness
- Decent WiFi in all rooms
- Location right on the Plaza de Armes and 50 yards from Mojsa the only reasonable restaurant in town
- Free coca tea
- Good breakfast
- Helpful staff
- It's modern, think thermostatic taps, soft close loo seat, good condition
- Free luggage storage
- Room safe

Things they could improve:

- 9am checkout (and a cheeky $40 day charge for staying later, more than we paid for the room?!?), why not make it 12.00 so guest with an afternoon bus can stay without extra cost?
- 9am breakfast finish, always feel like they are wanting to close, what cost to make it 10am?

Room Tip: Room 504 (triple) at the top of the hotel is massive and perfect for a family. Also some rooms don...

The hotel is located in the city centre, facing the beautiful cathedral. The rooms are clean, nice and the beds are very comfortable. The staff is pleasant and friendly, although didn't speak English very well (I guess I had to make some effort and learn a bit of Spanish, what I will do for sure). The room service was good too. You can find Coca tea in the lobby for free. There is also free Wi-Fi at the hotel. There was time when it was a bit difficult to connect to it, but not a big deal. Breakfast was great when you wake up early enough and unfortunately when you come a bit late there is already not so much left. We also had dinner at the restaurant and I would say the food was absolutely lovely and delicious, but the only disadvantage was an hour of waiting. As far as I understood it was a very common trade in Peru as everywhere at the restaurants we had to wait for a long time. Never mind as the quality of food did really compensate it.

This hotel is well located on the Plaza de Armas of Puno. It offers good facilities, refurbished rooms, comfortable beds, and a quality breakfast. Hotel staff should improve attention to customer requirements and needs. We have booked for two days and the first morning they mentioned we need to check out. However after we asked them to check our reservation, they corrected their data for the two night stay. Also, when we checked in we asked if they have oxygen and they told we should go and buy an oxygen can at the pharmacy (we tried at two pharmacies without success). We could see they had an oxygen bottle in the corner of the reception? The next morning another guest asked for oxygen and they brought the oxygen tank for her without cleaning or disinfecting the mouth mask.

We spent two nights in this hotel: the night before and the night after our trip on Lake Titicaca. The hotel is very well located, right on the Plaza de Armas and some excellent restaurants were just one or two streets away. It took about fifteen minutes to get from the main bus terminal to the hotel and the same time to go from the hotel to the harbor.

We spent our first night in a room on the sixth floor (the top floor), which had a window opening into an air shaft. The room was spacious and had a tv and an electric radiator. The bed had been moved from between the two night stands (which were fixed to the wall) to another place in the room and we found out that this had been done to cover a big stain on the carpet. While looking under the bed, we also found some used tissues there. The cleaning service might want to do a more thorough job.

When we returned from Lake Titicaca, we were given a room on the third floor. Again, this room had a view on an air shaft. I felt a bit filthy after spending two days on the lake, but when I was ready to take a shower, we discovered there were no towels. Half an hour later the staff had brought us a new supply and again I got ready for a shower. But immediately when I touched the shower, a knob fell off making the shower unusable. We had to ask the hotel staff to send in a repair man to fix the thing and to also unplug the toilet, which - we had meanwhile discovered - had been left stuffed with toilet paper by the previous guests. An hour and a half after our arrival, I could then finally take a shower. I would have really loved to use that time for a nap after the exhausting trip on the lake.

Breakfast was much better than in other hotels, including pancakes, bread rolls and different cheeses. After our second night, we had to leave very early in the morning, before breakfast was being served, and the hotel staff prepared us a boxed breakfast with no extra charge.

Room Tip: Only rooms at the front have a view, but they are a bit noisier.
