The trouble started when our group booked in. They took our passports and said they would deliver them to our room. After an hour - no passports, so I went to reception and they were sitting on their desk behind the counter and no-one there. When I found someone they were all mixed up. Not good enough.
The room we had was substandard. It was small and poky with one side of the bed pushed up against the wall so the only way to get into bed was from the end. Ridiculous. As a result, one side had no bedside table or lamp. There was absolutely minimal storage and nowhere in the bathroom to put toiletries. The shower was lukewarm at best after waiting for an eternity for it to warm up.
To top it off I was overcharged on my food bill and was only charged the correct amount after a protracted argument. It all came back to the waiter writing out 2 dockets for the one meal. We were the only ones in the restaurant that night so there were no excuses.
Overall, a very disappointing experience after an excellent stay in the Casa Andina Select Miraflores in Lima.
