The staff were very friendly and helpful, and always offered us coca tea to help with the altitude sickness.. The room was comfortable but it was VERY noisy at night - a lot of night clubs in the area. This together with the altitude does not make for an easy rest at night.

We regret that your stay was not entirely pleasant and we recommend our guests request at reception for ear plugs (free of charge) in case you have problems feeling noise at night.

Staff was great, the price couldn't be beaten (we bought via Hotels.com) and everything else met needs. Breakfast was good, location was a block or two from a lot of good food options and bars. Highly recommend if traveling through Puno

Room Tip: One note...heard the club located on other side of the block on a weekend night. I was so tired, I slept right through it, but if you're sensitive to it, maybe ask for a room furthest from the club.

Hotel Qelqatani is very well located to visit lake Titicaca and Puno, the hotel is in the old center, not too far from the main square, friendly staff, good restaurant, rooms are of a good size and clean.

Staff is very welcoming and helpful. met all our requests with a smile. Close to city center, 2 blocks to pedestrian shopping street and restaurant area. Can be a bit noisy. Rooms are large with comfortable beds...fortunately, there are heating units because Puno can get a bit chilly at this time of the year during the night.
Organized our day tour to the Uros and Taquile islands with a terrific guide.
WIFI signal is not very strong...had to go out in the hall...not heated...to get emails, this is the only downside.
      Breakfast is excellent..

I stayed on a Saturday night during low season but Puno seems to be a party town all year. The hotel was very conveniently located near a cute pedestrian promenade with restaurants and near the main city square. The staff was efficient and helpful, but not overly friendly. I was able to check-in in under 2 minutes and they were able to accommodate a special scheduling need that I had. The Room was sizable, the bathroom was very clean but the room had a strong smell of maybe a deodorizing carpet cleaner, which made me wonder what had happened prior to my arrival. The bed was nicely made but a bit too soft. The tour guides, like to Uros Islands, were able to pick me up easily from this hotel. The Only negative that I had was that there are nightclubs that have opened a few blocks away. Taxi horns blaring and drunkards fighting or declaring their love for one another could be heard as the passed down the streets four stories below. There is not much that the hotel can do, except change out all of its windows, but that would change the price point of all of the rooms. The hotel can't control the street noise, so I do highly recommend asking them for ear plugs until the City learns how to deal with this problem.

Room Tip: Noise from the street was really unbearable, ask the front desk staff for an off street room or some ear plugs!
