This tiny place could more aptly be called an "Information Center" than a "Museum." It consists of two small rooms: one containing displays related to the history and use of the coca leaf, and the other containing displays of traditional costumes worn in various traditional dances. An accompanying video (available in various languages) regarding the dances is shown. Note, however, that the labels describing the displays are for the most part in English only.

In sum, this place is "kind of interesting" and worth the price (and the hour or so of your time) if you happen to be in Puno already.

This is not the most professional of museum, but it has a lot of information in it. The attendant started us with a video about the different dances and costumes from the region. Most of the dances were developed to make fun of the Spanish colonists. It was quite amusing to watch. The visit then became silly when she dressed us in some of the many costumes that lined the wall. The information about coca was interesting though not very well displayed. We skipped around a bit learning what we could about the plant and its uses. It was a satisfying hour/hour and a half that helped understand the mountain culture of Peru a bit better.
