In a characterfull familiar building, this delightful guesthouse to the minutes from "Plaza de Armas"... For the price and the location, it can´t be beat. Flowerpots sit outside relatively peaceful rooms, wich have windows to let the sunshine . All have hot water and include the generous breakfast... Highly Recommended

Room Tip: Taste all the sandwichs on the breakfast... No have additional charge...Good

We stayed here before going to Lake Titicaca. They have heating service to your room, we didn`t use it, but I think it is a good idea. It`s cost is just 10 soles per night. We leave our luggage with them with no charge. And then we came back and for just 5 soles we could have a great bath with hot water. The Internet service is pretty slow. It is a safe and quiet place. The breakfast was ok.

We spent 2 nights here, on the way to and from the Island Tour.
Clean rooms, but no hot water which was a pity since it was freezing when we were there.
Location is great, walking distance from the bus stop and also the central part of town where there are restaurants.
Internet is super super slow so have patience :)
Breakfast is a no nonsense affair with tea/coffee/bread and jam.
The room rate was good, and given that we spent very little time and used the place just to sleep it was quite adequate.

We stayed in double rooms with shared bathrooms. There are two bathrooms on the ground floor and more on the floors above. The rooms were large and had wardrobes, bedside tables and a mirror. They also had large windows. They were quite clean as were the showers. I was particularly impressed with the the showers, they were solar powered and had signs stating what temperature they would be at what time, I used them twice and they were really warm both times, despite not being the time when they would be at their warmest.
The breakfast was possibly one of the strangest I had in Peru, we were given a bowl of yoghurt, some cereal and a slice of cake!
There is a computer and book swap for guest use. Cooking facilities were limited, there were two gas cookers.
The location is closer to the lake edge than the city centre, it takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the city centre but closer to 5 to walk to the boats. We booked our lake Titicaca group at the hotel and it was of good quality, we were even picked up from the hostel and dropped back by a minibus, despite being so close to the water.

Safe, clean, well-managed family hostel for budget-level travelers and backpackers. I'm a solo traveler and had a dorm room (3 to a room; one bunk and single) and shared bath because of no vacancy of private rooms (17/s); the other two travelers in the dorm room were backpackers from Spain and England, good and safe travelers. I stayed the remainder of my time in Puno (2 nights) in private room with shared bath (23/s). The hostel staff was helpful with basic map and city directions, tours to Lake Titicaca islands (I took the one-night home stay) and hostel reservations for Arequipa; staff was rather accomodating. The hostel had basic economy breakfasts, always served in clean environment, cozy and homelike courtyard, rooms and a nice funky dining area and lounge. I would recommend this to any economical traveler or backpacker.
