We booked through Hostelworld and got a quick email from the hotel to say they would meet us at the bus station in Puno. We were escorted to the hotel in a taxi, and it is in a good location only a couple of blocks from the main square and the main touristy street (Lima). The staff are very helpful and will organise local tours if you wish. The bedroom was clean, quiet at night and with lots of blankets on the bed to keep out the cold. The buffet breakfast was exceptionally good, the wifi was quick and we had cable TV. We stayed three nights and the facilities were all we needed.

We stayed one night there in Apr 2012.
We arrived very early in the morning in the dark. They picked us up at the bus terminal. They arranged our room and welcomed us to have breakfast. We re-assured that we only stayed in the hotel for one night and whether breakfast would only be provided to us for the next morning. They're totally generous and welcomed us for having 'extra' breakfast.
The breakfast was really good with plenty of choices. Fresh and hot eggs. They provided a micro-wave for you to re-heat the bread and food. Fresh and hot food are especially valuable in cool mornings for us Chinese.
They have a mini pantry on each floor with hot water pots and coca leaves and tea bags and coffee. Free to serve by yourselves anytime. Hot water all the time by your side!!
We booked two local tours from the hotel and booked Inka Express via them. But by the time we got the bus tickets, it was Tourismo. We were quite disappointed at the time. They explained to us that Inka Express was sold out and Tourismo just provided the same route. We couldnt refuse as we would like to meet our schedule. But I think they should have at least informed us before getting us another bus company tickets.
Overall speaking the staff there was polite.
The hotel front door was locked up all the time and staff was not always at the front desk all the time. Sometimes you need to wait for a short time after ringing the bell and before you could get in.
It was near to the Plaza de Armas. And if you have a little time, walk in the opposite way of the Plaza de Armas from the hotel and get to the uphill side to see the great view of the lake Titicaca and to see the houses of the locals.

We were in this hostel in march 2012. It is a nice place to stay

Positive aspects:
- close to centre
- clean rooms
- good breakfast with lot's of food
- free tea and coffee
- nice staff
- heater available (but do not expect too much due to Peruvian windows)
- wifi and a computer available for guests
- possibility to book tours to lake Titicaca

Negative aspects:
- dangerous wall sockets, which were not fixed, should be renewed quickly

The hotel staff was very helpful & tried their best to make our stay a pleasant one. However the facility is getting run down. It needs a good dose of repair and upkeep. Shower glass doors leaked and flooded all over the bathroom floor. Room size too small for 2 beds, one queen size bed is about max size for our room. Breakfast was simple but served cold. Hallways can used a paint job. Barking dogs on property adjacent to both sides of our (rear corner) room made sure we went to bed late & woke up early. We moved out on our second day.

Based on Trip Advisor reviews, my father and I stayed at San Antonio Suites on our two week backpacking trip in Peru. Overall, the hotel could use a make over with new curtains and bedspreads to bring it out of the 70s, but the staff are incredibly friendly, the price is right (33USD for a double) and the location is not bad. It wasn't a memorable stay, but we have no complaints.
Location: Good, a couple blocks from Plaza de Armas
Façade: Non-descript; didn't even notice signage in evening (but saw it in daytime)
Public Areas: Very kitsch with bright coverings on furniture, just average, public space had tea available.
Staff: Very friendly and accommodating.
Room: Small, minimal furnishings, basic, but heater provided, comfortable beds but pillows were not comfortable, clean, bathroom was adequate with hot water and decent shower.
Noise: Quiet
Breakfast: Buffet, excellent spread for price of room (including eggs, fruit, tea, fresh squeezed juice, granola, yogurt, etc)
Value: First impression based on decor is not great and rooms seem basic, but you warm to the place and it is overall good value for money.

It stinks as if there were 20 dogs in the place. Shower has no pressure and hot water takes 8-10 mins to come. Shower quality is very poor. Sheets are washed, but the blankets are old. They did provide a heater in the room, which helped.Overall a very old place and definitely not a three star. Internet connection not available inside the room (on the second floor), had to go near the computer/router to get the connection. Met people from 2 other rooms due to the same condition. Breakfast was good. Dont recommend this place for the money they charge.

We booked San Antonio Suites in Puno as we knew we would need a good night sleep after a long journey and before another journey the following day. The staff were helpful, breakfast was nice but unfortunately the bedroom we stayed in had an absolutely terrible bed. The mattress was very hard and one side of the bed was sunken. I could not sleep at night and when I woke up I had a really sore back (we’ve been travelling around the world for 6 months and this was the first time I encountered such a bed). Just make sure that you test your bed before accepting the room.
