Simply the best service you can get from a bed & breakfast or similar! Luciana is so wonderful, she worries if you have enough blankets for the night, what you would prefer for breakfast and so on! Really good job! Her family helps her and they even make an effort to speak English even though Spanish is better!

Don't forget to write down the address and tell the taxi driver that it's close to the university, because they are often not sure where avenida Sesquicentenario is...

We enjoyed our stay here. It's about 2-3 minutes from the centre of Puno but that was a cheap 3 soles taxi ride. Our room looked out towards Puno and we didn't have a problem with hot water / pressure. The delightful and friendly Luciana arranged our overnight AMANTANI Tour (only 70 soles) and she and her husband drove us into Puno to catch the 8am boat .
The tour stopped at UROS for 1 hour then onto AMANTANI Island for the afternoon/night. The following morning we went on to TAQUILE Island and got back to Puno for 5pm. It was a fascinating and enjoyable experience. Keep in mind that it helps to learn a few "Quechua words" as many families don't speak much spanish....Luciana also arranged our "First Class Bus Company" bus tickets to Cusco ($25 each) The 9-1/2 hr journey stopped at 4 interesting places along the route and it included lunch....a great deal. Although Luciana is picking up her english, her son teaches english so there's no problem with email communication. They will pick you up from town and take you back in to catch your bus....I recommend the PHAJSI ARUMA. My wife and I paid 65 Soles for a room with 2 beds. We stayed there before and after the AMANTANI / LAKE TITICACA TOUR. (we left our large backpacks in our room for no charge as they weren't busy)

This family-run business is located a bit far from the main attractions but offers rooms overlooking the Lake Titicaca. Some of the rooms do not have a view at all though! So please make sure that you have a room with a view when you make a reservation. The owner is very friendly and the place is pleasant, but, unfortunately, the showers do not work well. Would you like to shower outdoor under cold drizzle? Would you like having to spend one full hour in the shower because there is no pressure at all? I don't think so!! I really hated to take my shower there. Keep in mind that Puno is quite cold and being able to have a nice hot shower at night is one of the most important things when visiting this interesting place in Peru.

MY husband and I stayed in this hotel during out tour of Puno in January. We booked this B&B based on the reviews on tripadvisor so thought I would share my own review. The location is a bit outside the main area of town, but during the day you can walk it in about 20 minutes and cab it for about $1. Being out of the main area means it's quiet and safe. The host family are very friendly, helpful and most speak excellent english. The breakfast was delicious and they even packed us a bacon & egg sandwich with fruit and juice for our day excursions. Highly good value!!

As with the other reviewers of this hotel on Tripadvisor, I had the opportunity to try out the family's hospitality. One of the people in our party got extremely sick with altitude sickness AND stomach upset. The folks at the hotel called the doctor, went to pick up prescriptions, made tea and food, called the doctor again, went to pick up more prescriptions, and...wow...they were amazing.

Okay, so what about the hotel itself? It's not in the center of town, which concerned me at first...until I went to Puno. Puno is LOUD! Being able to jump in a taxi for $1 (3 soles) and get back to the quietness of the hotel was very nice. Don't worry about the distance. The hotel is clean. The rooms are nice. The food was good (standard Peru B&B food). Oh yeah, as always with me, I like the free WiFi!

Also, we had the owners set up our tour of Uros and they personally drove us over to the dock and waited for us to board the boat. Let me say this again in case you missed it...THESE GUYS ARE ABOUT SERVICE!!! I would recommend you stay here on that alone.

Two thumbs up!!!

We had an incredible stay at this wonderful hostel. The son of the family Marcus picked us up from the bus station at no extra charge and gave us a very warm welcome to Phajsi Aruma, he recommended 2 restaurants both of which were superb. The hostel is not central but it is only a short taxi ride or a 20 minuite walk in to town. Puno itself is just a jumping off point for the lake. I can not recommend this lovely hostel enough. It is family run. They include a great breakfast in the price. The rooms are spotlessly clean and are more to hotel standard than hostel standard. The family even took us out to see the local people practising their dancing for the fiesta. They really went above and beyond the usual to make our stay really fantastic. The tour we booked through them was excellent too. They even gave us hot water bottles and binoculars to take on the tour. These are really good people and deserve all the fabulous reviews.

It's definitely not just another hostel, Luciana and Jose treated us like family rather than guests! Agree with all the other comments, we actually felt like one of the family members! Luciana is so sweet and she makes the best orange juice in the world! Jose brought me to Bolivia Embassy in town and did the translation for me. Peter also lent me the binoculars for Lake Titicaca. The whole family just went the extra mile to make us feel like home. Although we need to get taxi to get in and out town, it's ok as there's not much to do downtown anyway (but must try the restaurant 'Moysa' as recommended by Luciana!) A very genuine and generous family which we stayed in touch! So lucky we made the right choice to stay there!
