Worst restaurant in Puno. We are vegetarians, so were looking forward to eating in a vegetarian restaurant, rather than eating vegetarian dishes in ordinary restaurants. The cost was s/10 for two, very inexpensive. We don't like to throw food away, so we ate, but it was one of the worst meals ever. When we entered the restaurant, the only person in the restaurant, a female waitress disappeared. I waited a few minutes before I stuck my head in the kitchen to ask what food they offered. The soup was eatable, but umder the stern judgmental gaze of the staff it tasted bad. The TV was way too loud on the news, undermining whatever restfulness the many posters of Krishna and yoga books offered. The staff seemed visibly angry at our intrusion. How dare we disturb their TV watching. The second course, a potato stew, white rice and iceberg lettuce was not apitizing. It was no surpris that we were the only patron for lunch at noon. Like in a horror movie, we felt lucky to escape the stern stares and frowns of the owner as we left. Yes it was eatable, it was cheap and we are not sick yet two hours after, but it was unpleasant, unappetizing and unfriendly.
