This hotel is spacious and professionally run. The room was well appointed, with Inca like touches. Breakfast was fulsome. The staff were extremely helpful, picking us up from the bus station and helping to organize our Lake Titicaca tours. All amenities worked well, including wifi. It is in a quiet, slightly non-descriptor location, but only one block from the main pedestrian mall, and it is walkable without luggage to the port area for tours. It is a hotel that is used by tour groups at times, this did not affect stay at all. We were mst impressed by the staff, who all went out of their way to assist us. I do not give out excellent ratings lightly, but Intiqa deserves this badge. Well done guys and we would definitely stay there again.

We’ve spent 2 nights (separate) at the Intiqa Hotel – in between an overnight-stay on the floating islands of Uros. And we loved it. Staff was really welcoming and helpful (and took care of our luggage for one day). A friendly employee even spoke to us in French (our mother tongue). Rooms were nice and spacious and breakfast was excellent. In terms of location, this place is outstanding as you are in a quiet area, yet only a 2 minutes’ walk away from the main street with tons of restaurants, boutiques, banks, etc.

We were picked up from the station as organised after arriving on the Andean Explorer. We are a family of 4 and had 2 rooms at either end of the corridor on the first floor - one room seemed to be right over the lobby, facing the road and the noise coming up through the floor was pretty bad. Luckily we had earplugs which helped cut out some of the noise. The breakfast buffet looked amazing and you could have eggs to order. We didn't suffer from altitude sickness as we'd come from Machu Picchu, and Cusco but there were some elderly people sucking on oxygen down in the lobby. Not advisable going straight to Puno from Lima - as our Lake Titicaca guide said " tourists who come straight from Lima end up spending the day in the hotel and not on Lake Titicaca". The hotel had organised our fast-boat tour of the floating islands and Taquile which was very good. Floating islands very touristy - we preferred Taquile and had a lovely lunch here which was part of the tour. We also organised through the hotel a transfer to Juliaca airport stopping on the way at the Sillustani funeral towers and had a great guide, Willy who stayed with us at the airport to make sure our flight left. Would highly recommend this hotel but request a room away from the road and not over reception/lobby area. We gave the receptionist our postcards to post and as yet (5 wks later) they still haven't arrived but this may be due to Peru mail and not the hotel's fault.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms away from road and definitely not on the first floor over the reception/lobby area - noise dreadful

Nice comfy beds with fluffy duvets. The shower/bathtub provides plenty of hot water. The location is excellent. The free buffet breakfast is completely unimaginitive and blah. Don't forget about the altitude in Puno! Acclimatize first or take pills!

Room Tip: Rooms on high floors are less noisy.

Intiqa Hotel is great, even more so for what you get for bargain room prices. We had two different rooms as we came back after our island stay and both had comfy king size beds and were really high spec, spotless clean, great hot showers, safes and free shampoo etc.

The staff are absolutely lovely and really helpful with excursions. It's just off Lima St (the main road).

The breakfast is so good, fresh omelettes, pancakes, fresh fruit, cereal and a wide choice of bread.

I can't rave about this place enough!
