“Monkeys were cute”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

Hike was long. Take water, snack and wear repellant. We needed to wear rain boots due to rain the day before, which were provided by lodge.

“Just OK”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

Made for a nice morning, the lake is small, but lovely. The hike a bit muddy, wish we had worn our own shoes, rather than the borrowed ones from the hotel. Their heart is in the right place but the fit just was not that comfortable.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

Worth the hike out, and a lovely, relaxing afternoon. The Giant River Otters were a special treat, and the monkeys and tarantula on the hike in were interesting. The Red Howler Monkeys were a bonus.

“Nice lake at end of long walk”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

Longer walk than thought (2 miles) through the mud but beautiful lake at the end. Lots of birds, butterflies and other critters to look at. Wear long sleeve shirts and wide brimmed hats.

“Best excursion from our base at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

After a longish hike on a fairly rough path, our guide led us to an inlet of the oxbow lake of Lago Sandoval. And from there in a small boat which she paddled. Throughout, we saw wonderful wildlife - thanks to our guide's trained eyes. The excursion left the lodge at 6:00 a.m., to avoid the crushing heat of mid day.
