This quaint sidewalk hotel sits on a hill, as many buildings on Taboga do. It is a short walk from the pier, but there are several stairs to climb. The restaurant serves good food and drink; the small lobby is decorated with plants and various colored tiles, and the rooms upstairs are spacious and comfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room where you can see the back of the second oldest church in the Americas, San Pedro. An...

We did not stay here but ate here several times. If I return and need a hotel, this is the one I will choose. The owner is gracious and friendly. The place is absolutely beautiful. Decor is to die for. Dreamy, tropical, warm colors, plants - magical. The restaurant overlooks an unobstructed view of the bay and, at night, is particularly beautiful and romantic. Soft jazz music enhances the ambiance. The food is spectacular. We love this place. Worth every penny

We didn't stay at the hotel but took shelter from the sun on their lovely verandah and cooled off with a beer while enjoying the view of the Pacific Ocean and the shipping traffic. Taboga has a lot of potential but not much to offer at present other than a small beach which was littered at the high tide mark. To me, it was like a run-down version of Catalina Island. If you go out on the boat, you are stuck there for the day until the late afternoon boat. Golf cart rentals to tour the island would have been great. The island looks like it had its heyday many years ago.

The last stop during our 4 week discovery of Panama was on the beautifull flowered Taboga. This island can be reached after a 1 hour boat trip from Panama City. The passenger ferry leaves from the Amador causeway early in the morning and stays till late in the afternoon on the island. So you can come and go for a visit on the same day.
But we decided to stay for the night, and we did not regret it!
The Vereda Tropical is a nice small hotel which is leaning on the hillside which covers most of the island. It is French looking, with an open space in the middle with view on the first floor with the rooms.
Our room was fantastic: we had a marvellous view over the bay with the small island El Morro in front of us. And the food was superb: we had lunch, dinner and breakfast in the hotel.
Taboga itself is a really nice place to visit: the little town with the church, the beaches and the nearby forest,... all invite for a discovery.
This was really the best way to end our visit to this beautifull country Panama!

Tabago Island is a fantasy world.
The Vereda Tropical if managed by an Orge, had Grisdella $ Anatasia as cook & waitress would still be a delight.
My stay was most pleasant, had 4 meals there 2 breakfast 1 lunch 1 dinner.
The Service was SUPERB the food excellent
My room had French doors that opened to a spectular view of the beach & pristine water..
The staff when checking in & departing was extremely courteous & helpful.
I would certainly recomend the Verda Tropical to everone!

Room Tip: Book a beach & water front room.

Our stay was delightful in this little gem of a hotel. Set above the beach with a grand view, it has the best food on the island and a serious menu of interesting beverages. I will definitely be back. A friend went on my recommendation and raved about all of the above plus a fabulous mojito

Room Tip: Ocean view is a must

Vereda Tropical is a charming small hotel on the Island of Taboga. The isalnd si easily reachable by ferry and is the perfection destination for a short break. the highlight of the hotel is the view one can get from teh terrace and even better from the seaview rooms. That is what comes to mind at 6am when the sun comes up and you open your window to a view on the bay and, on lucky days, on the Panama frontline in the horizon. the hotel is not the most modern you have seen but ahs all standard amenities ( water is sometimes restricted i the dry season though). the food si also correct and the service amicable if not super fast

Room Tip: seaview rooms, especially the corner one
