This resort has very nice grouds, the rooms were okay (some a.c. troubles and our two side by side rooms were on opposite sides of the building). It is a really big resort with alot of bars and restaurants but often I found myself in search of something open and serving. I ended up buying alot a cans of beers from the lobby store because the only bar open was too far. Nice enough beach (not the best, not the worst). The casino seems shady (perhaps some missing face cards...?) There are more rules that I was use to (no drinks by the pool, shoes and shirts required, no walking through the restaurant; instead go up and around the huge hill) Also, they broke my stroller when loading it onto the bus (and then unloading it in seach of someones luggage and then reloading it...) While I was there they said they would take care of it, but now they are saying that I loaded it myself and I broke it, but they fixed it so they won't reinburse me. (I didn't think so) What lies. Panama is also more expensive than you might be use to if you travel to other Centeral and South American countries. Overall it was okay. I won't go back.

This resort was a lovely place to spend our two weeks holidays! The resort was very clean, the staff super friendly, food was excellent, and the surrounds really nice.If you expect ultra modern rooms you won't find them here. The rooms are very comfortable and clean but not out of a magazine.I thought they were lovely! The food was marvelous. Something to satisfy anyone! Lots of variety to choose from.Lots of different pools and of course a lovely beach! Nightime entertainment could use a little work as there wasn't much variety. Excursions with Decameron explorer were extremely well done and very enjoyable.Old Panama city and the canal are a must! Recommend to all!

Room Tip: Our's was a superior room on the green.I don't know what the others were like but bring your...

I attended a wedding which brought me there. Very few spoke English so it was very difficult to communicate. The rooms were just ok; nothing special at all. The all inclusive resort, at the bar the drinks were pretty watery and weak. The buffet was edible but not great. At one point we asked for more tarter sauce and they basically served watery mayo. The bread and desserts were good. If you wanted to go to one of the restaurants well good luck! Every time we asked we were told nothing was available. The all inclusive activities were booked! Try speaking to someone and you get a blank look. You have to pay extra for wifi and $3.00 a day for the safe in your room, seriously? Thankfully together we had fun but the resort brought nothing to the table! Oh and the Casino lol it looked as if you were at a church casino night. I will say if it was managed better and more English speaking staff it could have been amazing! Would I go back? Never!!
Ten tables at the wedding which began st 7p and I was at table 9 and got served at 10p. Need i go on..,,, Again if it wasn't the company I was in I would have been miserable!

The reviews we read had us very nervous but they were unfounded from our perspective. We went with 3 other couples and had a great time.

The room decor is a little dated but was well maintained and very clean. We frequently saw security wandering the grounds to ensure there were no unauthorized guests (not that security was needed but it was nice to know someone was always near by if anything would ever go wrong). Although Spanish is highly recommended, we had no problem communicating with the staff (no one in our party spoke anything but English). The food was good, very similar to what you would expect on a cruise ship. It certainly exceeded our expectations for the overall cost of the trip.

If you go to bed early, buildings 10 and 15 should be avoided, otherwise all of the buildings had easy access to the beach, bars, activities, and food. This is a large resort on a small hill. If you want to see everything, you will do some walking. If you don't want to walk you can limit yourself to services near your room (food, drink, and swimming is close to virtually every room) or you can use the resort shuttles (small vans requiring patience to wait for them).

We spent 7 days there and all agreed, the only draw back was the 2 hour ride from the airport which will be fixed in 2014. They are building an airport less than 2 miles from the resort. We had a great time and all agreed the resort was well worth the money.

We booked Panama because it's one of the few destinations that Saskatchewan flies direct to. Overall, we really enjoyed Panama and this hotel.

The POSITIVES
- Panamanians are so friendly!
- Felt safe at all times!
- The Pools are INCREDIBLE!
- Beach is huge
- The Disco could get pretty fun at night
- Rooms are air conditioned
- Ground are incredibly manicured and maintained. Breathtaking century old trees and colorful plants.

The NEGATIVES
- There is a real language barrier with the workers. Not being able to communicate was confusing at times. We had read about this in previous reviews and didn't think it would be as big of an issue as it was.
- Beach and Pool chairs are reserved by other vacationers super early in the morning. I had to wake up at 6:30AM every day to secure a spot with an umbrella or shade coverage.
- We had little bugs/ants in our bathroom on two occasions. I think they came up the sink. They didn't bite but it was still kind of irritating.

TIPS
- Lobby 1 Buffet was the best
- Alacartes were delicious. Highly recommend the Steakhouse, Mediterranean and Thai.
- Pool #2 has all the activities. Regretfully, we didn't figure this out until the last day.
- If you like SUPER HOT weather, you'll love Panama in Jan-Feb. Not a drop of rain (though we wished it would sometimes), it doesn't even cool off at night. Sweatiest week of my life.
- Lifeguards say the pools and ocean are closed at 5pm and will whistle you out of them. But then they go off duty and you can go back in the pools or ocean at your own risk. One thing we learned was that the ocean "closes" at 5pm due to sea life (jellyfish, urchins, stingrays) coming in with the tide. The ocean closing time is for your safety.
- The bus ride from the airport to the resort was 3 hours there and 2 hours back. Wasn't a huge bother to us. Got to see the city and countryside and the bus was air conditioned.
- If you walk to the Spa by Lobby 2 and head off resort towards Lobby 3, there are really great street vendors selling hammocks and jewelry and trinkets. There is also a great restaurant called Cami E's. Felt safe at all times and the Panamanians were so friendly.

EXCURSIONS
- Go find Dennis at the place where you rent jetskis and other water equipment. He can give you better deals on excursions than the Decameron Explorer. We rounded up 12 people and he arranged a private trip to Anton Valley to the zoo, mudbaths, waterfalls, ziplining and quadding for $130/person. Amazing value and trip!!!!
- My husband and I booked massages on the beach. Well worth it. So relaxing.
- Took a $2 bus to Penonome. Not really worth it. They take you to a shopping strip that is like one Dollarama after another.

Would I return? Probably not. But this is no insult to the country or resort, there's just so much of the world to see.

Room Tip: Golf villas are pretty far from the rest of the resort and shuttle service is so-so.

My husband and I recently went here for our honeymoon and thought it was amazing!! Everyone was so nice and the bar tenders were fun and the tour guides for the excursions were great! The food was pretty good and there was a good variety. We had a beach front room and it was definitely worth the upgrade because you are close to the buffet restaurants and close to the bars and the ocean was not really far at all. The resort was very clean, the pools were clean and the beaches were kept real clean. There always seemed to be people landscaping trying to perfect the resort so everyone can have a enjoyable experience. Most of the workers knew English so that was good to communicate. The nightly entertainment was interesting with different dance shows. Overall we thought it was wonderful here, it was like a paradise for us and we definitely plan to go back in the near future!!

Room Tip: If you want a room with awesome ocean view book the beach front option :)

Let just say the resort's grounds were beautiful and well kept. Our room was average but the a/c was eithor on or off there was little temperature control. The resort food was average at best and most food was served just warm and if something was popular it was gone fast and not replaced very quickly. We actually walked out of one of the a la cart restaurants, it was too noisy and the food was very poor. Generally speaking, resort staff were not friendly. We were on three trips, the "booze cruise" that was about 1.5 hrs to long because we did not go snorkeling as there were jelly fish in the area and the crew got hit before we got in (here's hoping the dive master was okay as he left the boat early to go to the hospital). The canal boat trip was great and well worth the money (feeding monkeys bananas was cool!) The city and canal tour was average at best as we spent most of the time on the bus not getting off much. The sound system on the buses were brutal... my wife and I now have a joke when we can't understand each other, "blah, blah, blah Panama Canal, blah blah blah Panama Canal"... the only thing we could understand was Panama Canal! The holiday was nice, but we won't be returning.

Room Tip: Do not get a room near the reception desk number one as the night life shows are very loud.
