The Hotel was good. The meals in all restaurants were good and as with a previous hotel, it met our expectations. Probably best hotel in David.

This was our third stay at this hotel. It is clean, inexpensive (by USA standards), and has air conditioning and hot water. The food at the restaurant is bland, almost almost always flavored with onions. There is a casino across the street (we did not try it) and a movie theatre around the corner with 6 screens. Our purpose was to be out of Costa Rica for three days - this fulfilled the requirements. We have been told this is the best hotel in David, Panama - we have not tried another.

After coming in to David on the bus from Boquete this was the perfect place to stay. We had gotten one of the King Suites located poolside in what is the newer section of the hotel for the price of $90 + the standard 10% room tax. The room was spacious with a somewhat large bathroom, and the bed and bedding were very comfortable. The patio was equipped with a wicker couch, two wicker chairs and a table, perfect for relaxing and watching the birds.
Be aware that very few staff members speak english..but if you have generic spanish or can make hand signals you can get by. The staff at reception are not so friendly at first, but they do warm up. They are very helpful if you need to find anything whether it is a shopping item, suggestions about things to do, or getting directions to places that you want to visit.
This is one of the cleanest and best run hotels I have ever been to. They are constantly cleaning from 7am til the sun goes down. The gardens are immaculate and wonderful to look at. The barbeque is really good..just a ton of food..be hungry when you go. It opens at 5:30pm and offers live music.
Also, this hotel is located across the street from the Fiesta Casino..so if you are using a taxi or a gps it is an excellant landmark to go by.

Stay for two nights. Called ahead for room rate, was quoted $80 including tax. When checked out they charged me $99. Told them what their quote but said that was for one person. I told the phone quoter it would be me and my fiance and wanted the rate quote to cover everything. They printed a new bill for $88 and said it was the lowest they could go, even though today on Travelocity they are $78 (plus 10% hotel tax = $85.80... minus the percent they have to pay Travelocity). Sad thing is I'm moving to Boquete and starting a business in David. My partner and I are going back to David (I live in Costa Rica) next Tuesday for a week looking for real estate and employees. I hope the $8 they lied to me about and the $19 they tried to rip me off for is worth the loss of business to them. The hotel is clean and well maintained, in a good location of the city. They put me as far away from the lobby as was humanly possible, but I didn't mind the walk.

Spent one night (25 April) in hotel. Not stayed in any other hotel in David, but this hotel felt like the best. Walked in off street on a soaking wet night for a room and the team there were very helpful and made sure I was looked after. Free wi fi in hotel. My only criticism, more of an inconvenience really, is that it took nearly an hour driving in a dark and rainy night to find it. Although the address is Calle Central it is not on any road signs. The actual road name is some guys name but look for the roads coming off Pan Americam Hway in David named Norte and Sur. They countdown 3 Norte to 2 Norte etc or 3 Sur to 2 Sur etc. Simply turn down the street after 1. If coming along P A H and turn into correct street as just mentioned keep following it down (way past where trip advisor shows it on its map) and you will see it on your right (opposite the garish lights from the casino). Total cost of large room for 1 was 74 usd. Addl light dinner and breakfast the bill left good chage out of 100usd

We were very pleased to stay here. Someone told us it was the best place to stay in David and as far as we are concerned it couldn't be better. The room was fantastic. We got a suite which was very large and roomy. Nice big bathroom. It was under $100 for a suite. We splurged on this room because we were exhausted and lost and hungry so we just went for it. The bed was fantastic with wonderful bedding. The restuarant was very good and the location was great for seeing the area. I will definitely go there again. It has a nice pool area apparently which we did not see because we got there late and left early but the pictures look very nice. I was just so happy with the room that I didn't look around any more!

Originally we made reservations at Hotel Alcala, only to learn upon arrival at 8pm they do not hold reservations. No credit card was requested at the time of reservation, nor were we advised they do not hold reservations. Because we knew Gran Hotel Nacional was a larger hotel, we checked in without incident.

The room was clean and comfortable. Nice bedding and flat screen TV. Irons can be requested upon request. The restuarant is very effecient. For dinner you have a choice of an air conditioned restaurant or an outdoor bohio barbeque style restaurant.

The Front Desk staff can appear unfriendly, but with positive response, they open up and smile. If you are a Jubilado, retired person, you need to specifically ask for the savings as they do not recognize this request if you provide them with specific identification.

There is also a business office offering free internet. Though there is only one computer, not once did I encounter a wait. Obviously WiFi would be available in this office.

Overall, this is a centrally reliable and dependable hotel which is run and operated effeciently. The restuarant service within the hotel is very good. For a stopover in David, its a good choice!
