“Yummy fried chicken. That's only item served.”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

For $8 we got a fried chicken lunch plate. Seemed a bit expensive for fried chicken and french fries, but you are on an island with food being shipped in. There were no menus presented and our dining companions said that was the only item served. You have choice of french frieds or fried plantains. Food was delicious and chicken was perfectly cooked.

This is a tiny hole in the wall just past the Rincon restaurant and again, family owned, so be patient.

“Great food...not the best service but that's not the reason to go.”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

Food was delicious. Usually you can get a set meal for lunch (they're not open for dinner) but the day we went (around 1:30 pm), they were all out. Too bad. Instead, they offered fried chicken or fried fish. We were a group of 6 and we took 3 of each. I only had the chicken (which was GREAT) but overall everyone was satisfied. It cost more...$7 and $10 for the chicken and fish respectively. But still a good deal.

Now, the service wasn't amazing. We waited a long time for the food to come and smaller tables that ordered after us got their food first. It's definitely not a place where you should expect to be waited over or provided good service. But not's really why you go there. If you're looking for a cheap, local place to eat...this is where to go.

“Terrific food...maybe”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

This tiny place only has a couple of selections from the menu of the day--which is presented orally. We happened onto a fried fish that was simply outstanding--up to the quality of DC or Miami Beach, probably at least in part because the fish was so fresh. Everything else was, well, simple cooking, and I'm not sure that a non-Spanish speaking guest would be able to get along very well. The owner/waiter didn't seem to speak English. Still, if you can manage a bit of Spanish, you may be rewarded with truly tasty and fresh food.

“Breakfast on a budget”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

This is a no frills restaurant at a reasonable price with a good home cooked breakfast. Meals are served on her back terrace with simple wooden tables and chairs. Food is generally expensive in Contadora due to transportation of everything and this in an economical change from the pricier establishments.
