We had already done the Canal Crossing from the Pacific to the Atlantic. Seeing the locks working from land just brought it all together. They have an observation deck with a guide that will answer any questions. Our only issue with the visit was that in both the maps on the wall and the maps in the literature the Atlantic Ocean is on the left and the Pacific on the right, so that what is normally north was actually south. It was difficult to orient yourself, especially for the kids. I would recommend a visit to any of the locks and stay long enough to get to see a Panamax class boat go through, that is a treat!
