“Nothing like excellent Fish and Chips!”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

The Rip Tide is a boat moored in Bocas Town...so you are surrounded by water on 3 sides and it rocks slightly. It is the coolest place on a hot day and great views of the boating activity.
We order Fish and Chips and Limonada (made from fresh lime juice...they didn't have that the other day and tried to pass off watered-down pink punch...not much of a tip for that waitress!), and it is about $20 for the two of us. It is always delicious and coleslaw is unique. Our splurge for the week.

“The restaurant is actually a boat!”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

We've been to Bocas several times now and somehow missed this place until this visit. Rip Tide has very tasty food, very good drinks and we ate here twice during our stay in Bocas. The fried bananas wrapped in bacon are wonderful. The grilled fish is light and well prepared and served with glazed carrots, a nice side salad, rice and beans, and garlic johnny cakes. My husband loved the fried fish and chips. They make a wonderful fresh, minty mojito.

“Service does matter”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

This is kind of a locals place. Cheap drinks with an attitude. The daytime bartender/waitress made it very obvious she wants to be somewhere else doing something else, and that customers are a pain in the butt. The cook, who stepped out to buy live lobster from a boat that stopped by was just the opposite. A very fun and caring guy. We ended up having him cook a lobster dinner later for the four of us. It was pretty good, and served by a slightly better waitress who had taken over. We have eaten here before, and sometimes the food is good, sometimes not, but the daytime waitress has a consistently bad attitude, which takes the fun out of what is really a charming setting on a boat on the water.
