I go here about 3 times a week and the dinner is excellent, breakfast service has improved tremendously in the last month and it is more affordable than other restaurants in town.
Great value, fresh food, owned and operated by a nice family. Close to downtown & very clean. Breakfast, lunch and BBQ at night.
This is my favorite Panamanian food restaurant in Boquete. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Though I have yet to try breakfast there, I hit it up for lunch at least once a week. The fried chicken plate, with rice and beans (sometimes lentils instead), and salad (which is more of a coleslaw, but still delicious), with fruit punch is only $3.25 and would be worth the money at twice the price.
I like finding cheap local eats and I love anything grilled. Check and check.
This place is right next to where I take my laundry and I was lured in by the smell of meat cooking. It's a small no-frills place a couple blocks off the main road (behind the police station one block to the east). They're open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but they only fire up the grill for dinner. Hours are a bit vague - I've been told any time after 5:00 but that doesn't seem to be strictly adhered to so if you don't want to be disappointed I'd suggest going some time after 6:00 or 6:30.
The service can be slow because it's basically a one-man operation and depending on what they have on hand they may have to run to the store to accommodate your order (this happened a couple times). If you get bothered by slow service, this probably isn't the place for you!
But other than that it's lovely. The people are friendly and the food is cheap and good. Hamburgers with cheese and bacon are $2.50 and choripan (kind of a misnomer because it's not exactly chorizo - more like a big high-quality hotdog with grilled bun and chimichurri) is $2.25, and both are perfectly executed. They also have grilled chicken, ribs, and steak and sides (patacones, french fries, etc.). You can get a big glass of juice for 75 cents and they also have soda and cans of beer. If you judge a restaurant by how many times you return, this would be one of the best in Boquete for me because I've been there several times.
Side note - they're also open for breakfast and lunch and serve more typical Panamanian fare for those meals, but I've only been there for the grill at dinner :)
