“Best Views in Boquete”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

We enjoyed three nights in a private, spacious cottage. This ideal setting has unbelievable views of Volcano Baru! We were close to town, surrounded by dense forest, flowers, coffee and lots of birds. Delightful hosts, Jane and Barry, were attentive and full of helpful knowledge of the area. Prior to our trip we were sent detailed and extremely helpful information. Each morning we enjoyed home baked breads, fruit and fresh roasted coffee on our private deck. It doesn't get any better than this. We enjoyed a home cooked meal with a great bottle of wine on our first evening. Date night dinners are available.
Barry's coffee tour is a must! We brought some home with us.
We will recommend to our friends and family.

Our two nights at the Coffee Estate were the highlight of our trip in Panama. The bungalow and grounds are super comfortable and peaceful, and have all the amenities you would want. The views from our balcony were perfect. But what really set Coffee Estate apart is the level of service and attention to detail from Jane and Barry. After arriving late (and tired) our first night, for which we were scheduled to do the "date night" dinner, Jane and Barry both welcomed us personally and gave us a brief rundown of the property, but quickly gave us time to relax and settle in before our lovely candlelit dinner. Jane's tips about activities in the area are incredibly detailed and made a huge difference to us. She even knew to tell us the best place to sit in a local restaurant -- a tip which led to a lovely fireside dinner which we likely would have missed out on but for her. At the end of our stay, Jane made a point of offering to take our pictures around the grounds and sent them to us by email the same day. Just another small detail that makes Jane and Barry's "slice of paradise" a unique and stand-out place to stay. Wonderful!

We stayed 3 nights here and everything about our stay was wonderful and comfortable (maybe even a bit too comfortable). We had their driver David pick us up from Almirante – he speaks perfect English and is a wealth of knowledge about Boquete and Panama, which was perfect for the long drive. Barry and Jane are extremely nice and accommodating. We took advantage of having Jane arrange for a rental car for us to use during our stay (we used it to drive into Boquete for lunch/dinner, excursions, etc) – the car was waiting for us at the Inn when we arrived, no need to pick it up, which was very convenient! We returned it at the David airport, where we caught a cab to the bus station and took a bus to Panama City. Also, Barry’s coffee tour was excellent, the flora at the Inn is beautiful, and Barry is very knowledgeable and passionate about coffee! The room/villa we stayed in was very nice. It was great to make coffee in the morning and have breakfast out on the deck while looking at the incredible view of the volcano. Date night dinner was very nice, Jane goes out of her way to create a very nice setting, and the food was great. We would recommend the Coffee Estate Inn to anyone.

We stayed there in nov for 3 nights during our honeymoon. Jane and Barry are amazing hosts! They will go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy everything about Boquette. They are also willing to give you lots of tips and answer any questions. Even in the info brochure they send before you even get there! Saved us from getting scammed by a cop even!
Try planning to be there for one of their date nights they really make it special! Also make sure you take the time to tour their beautiful property!
Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Thanks Jane and Barry!

Room Tip: Go for date night!

My wife and I spent three wonderful nights at the Jane and Barry's Coffee Estate in Boquete, Panama. Our every need was fulfilled and the property and rooms were beautiful. Big rooms, a nice kitchen (stocked with baked goodies, fresh fruit, and their delicious home-grown coffee) and a deck to stare longingly at the amazing volcano Baru. We ate a fantastic "romantic" New Year's eve dinner in our "suite" and they even had a wine list! The grounds are to die for and Barry offers a free tour to all guests - truly Eden.

We would return in a NY minute :-)

The Coffee Estate Inn was the best place we stayed in Panama! Our spacious cabana had very comfortable accommodations.

We especially enjoyed picturesque views and sounds of nature from our deck. The hosts, Jane and Barry were very hospitable. Barry gave us a tour of the coffee plantation and showed us the art of coffee making. We ordered a "date night" dinner and it was well beyond expectations-- two sides of the dining table on our cabana was decorated with freshly cut flowers from their garden, along with candlelight and music. I would strongly recommend the Coffee Estate Inn!

We stayed at this lovely B& B plus for three nights between Christmas and New Years, 2012. We chose it because of the wonderful reviews from others and it was fabulous! There are three cottages on a several acre coffee estate filled with beautiful flowers, trees and coffee, overlooking the Baru Volcano that dominates the scene. The cottages are private and spacious. They're very well equipped with a living room/dining area and kitchen with a microwave and refrigerator. There's a flat screen TV and wireless connection. The bed room is spacious with an extremely comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. Each cottage has it's own private covered deck area with a beautiful view of the volcano. On one of our afternoons we were blessed with a beautiful rainbow stretching across our deck. There's a walking path through the estate so you can explore on your own and enjoy the views and the beautiful flowers.
The owners, Jane and Barry, are fabulous hosts. Not only do they know the area intimately and are full of helpful advice about Boquete and the surrounding area, but they are also incredible chefs. They sent information ahead of time which helped us plan other parts of our time in Panama. Fresh fruit and their homemade breads and their own coffee are complimentary for breakfast--in the privacy of your cottage. We were fortunate to be there on one of the nights they offer "romantic dinners." They offer a lovely menu and serve it in your cottage with linen, nice china, flowers, candlelight and music. They also serve "casual dinners" on the other nights. The one we sampled from their "casual menu" was also delicious. We had a terrific tour of the estate, learned about coffee and the roasting process from Barry, and watched as he roasted their delicious coffee. We ended up buying a pound of their coffee beans that we watched being roasted. As we sip a wonderful cup of coffee from their Estate, it brings back memories of our wonderful stay there.
The Coffee Estate Inn is a "gem": the setting, the hosts, the food and the cottages. It fills quickly since there are only three cottages--so plan ahead. We even changed our dates around a bit so we could stay there. We are well traveled and tend to be critical, so when we find a "gem" we want to share it with friends and ' the universe.' We couldn't recommend the Coffee Estate Inn more highly, and Jane and Barry are wonderful inn-keepers and hosts. They're "living their dream" ( having retired from their work in Canada), built The Coffee Estate Inn and are now sharing this 'piece of paradise' with those of us lucky to be there.
Dori and David, Brookline, MA

Room Tip: All three of the cottages are private and lovely.
