“Our favorite place in the world!”
Reviewed July 6, 2012

This B&B is our favorite place in the world to stay. We have stayed here multiple times over the years and can't say enough about how wonderful it is. We have brought both of our sets of parents, sent friends and visitied ourselves whenever we can get away. It had been 2.5 years since our last visit, and that was too long. It is a place where, when we arrive, we just give a big sigh of relaxation and wonder aloud what took us so long to find our way back. The innkeepers, Jane and Barry, are the ultimate hosts. From the moment you arrive, you feel so well taken care of, so pampered with their attention and help. They are the most thoughtful, practical, kind and genuine people you will ever meet. And the inn- it is an absolute Eden. Flowers everywhere, birds (including hummingbirds) are abundant, the view of the volcano is breath-taking, the trails are gorgeous, the coffee they grow/harvest/roast and will sell you is delicious, and if you are lucky enough to have one of their meals- you will always remember it. They set up these amazing tables with flowers, candles and fantastic food.

The area is wonderful, also. There are so many roads to explore, with beautiful scenery everywhere. There are great hikes, waterfalls, a quaint town, beautiful flowers everywhere you look and good food to be had. Cool and enjoyable weather is another thing we enjoy here.

The cabin itself is cozy and thoughtfully laid out with everything one would need. We LOVE the new bathrooms- they are spacious, very pretty and super functional. And the heated floors are the best.

I guess it is clear that we just love this place, if you have a chance- GO HERE!!!! You won't find a more relaxing place in the world.

Room Tip: Ask Jane and Barry what to do in the area, they know everything and will give you great advice.

Wow, I cannot say enough about our stay June 17-22. The property is a botanical and bird garden and every detail is attended to. Barry and Jane are great hosts with a wealth of knowledge. My only regret is that we did not dine in more often...there cooking is fabulous. They absolutely spoiled us for our other accommodations in Panama, though some were lovely this is the epitome. We did well with our weather in the "green season."

Room Tip: They are all great

This was our second visit to Panama, Boquete and La Montana y el Valle. We would not have missed another chance to stay at this wonderful B & B and see our new friends, Jane and Barry. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and - as before - they were attentive at exactly the right times. We stayed at the lowest bungalow this time - the highest the first time - and will stay in the middle bungalow when we return in September. All three are the same - private, quiet, comfortable, well-furnished, clean and totally relaxing. Although the entire town lost power two nights in a row, Jane and Barry made sure that we had a superb dinner and the Coffee Estate Inn's generator kept us all with lights and comfort food. This is a delightful couple. If you go, take a couple of bags of Jasmine and Basmati rice and a 5 lb bag of whole wheat flour. (Hard to find in Panama and Jane and Barry will appreciate your thoughtfulness.)

I have stayed at the coffe estate a number of times over the years and it has always been an enjoyable experience. First, Jane & Barry make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive, and are always prepared to answer any questions about the area or make arrangements for any requests you may have, from car rentals to maps and personal reviews of the area, local restaurants, and sights to see. The bungalows are extremely clean and welcoming and someone is always checking on the condition of the bungalows while you are out. The grounds & gardens also reflect their dedication to providing a serene & comfortable setting. They'll even give you a personal tour of the coffee plantation from berries to a steanming cup of their custom made java. Their "date night" is well worth enjoying also. Their attentiveness to detail is impecable. I grew up in Panama and have been visiting Boquete for many years, This by far is the best place to stay for a memorable, relaxing visit to Boquete. Room Tip: No, there's no fitness room or pool, but there are plenty of trails to hike & water sites to...

We wanted to stay at this place for our honeymoon 3 years ago but there was no availability by the time we checked. For our anniversary in March of this year we decided to book early. And boy, were we glad we did! We don't usually write up reviews (this is our first one), but we enjoyed our stay with Barry and Jane so much, that we just had to share this with others. The place is wonderful, with great accommodations in a serene setting, lots of trees and birds, and breathtaking views of the valley and the volcano. More importantly, Barry and Jane were wonderful hosts, going out of their way to keep us and all their other guests happy with great tips for things to do, places to hike, and delicious meals served in the cottage. It was the perfect way to celebrate our honeymoon. We loved it so much that we would love to go back again for a future anniversary. We highly recommend this place if you're looking for a quiet and natural setting that offers custom service and truly personal attention.

My husband and I have done a lot of traveling, especially in Latin America, and we have stayed in many beautiful accommodations. And the Coffee Estate Inn is right at the top of our list of favorites. The word amazing really sums up our experience there last month (April 2012). The owners - Jane and Barry - are amazing in their helpful advice, warm hospitality and top-notch culinary skills. The location, property and grounds are amazing with stunning vistas, beautiful gardens and an incredible variety of birds. The accommodations themselves are amazing: clean, modern, well-maintained and very comfortable. And the activities of the area are amazing as well; my husband and I went hiking, bird watching, 4-wheeling, swimming in rivers and hot springs, enjoyed Barry's coffee tour, and more. We wished that we had stayed longer at this truly AMAZING place, and we highly recommend it on all levels.

We had the pleasure of being guests at this fine estblishment in early March. This was our first trip to Panama, and we were looking for somplace to stay that would be comfortable accomodations in a unique setting and close to our favorite activities of birding , hiking and having private romantic time together.
This was the perfect place and the perfect hosts with Barry and Jane.
The bungalowes at the Coffee Estate Inn are spacious and well appointed with perfert views of the Volcan Bara. The grounds of the estate are a wonderful introduction to the coffee culture.
We would love to go back and take friends or family, just to share the experience.
We highly recommend the date night dinner.
And for the birders out there, the nighly visit of the Blue Crowned Mot Mot was amazing, not to diminish the pleasure or seeing the red-legged honey creeper, many varieties of tanagers, and eupohonia.

Room Tip: All lovely
