“Pamper Yourself!”

We had a wonderful time visiting Jane and Barry. They are wonderful hosts and anticipated our needs. The cottage was modern and comfortable with everything we could hope for. Every morning there was a wonderful assortment of fruits and breads with fresh roasted coffee.

The amenities are great and the views were spectacular. Jane and Barry offer an excellent assortment of meals - date night was unforgettable. It started with Jane decorating our tale with beautiful flowers from her garden followed with roast duck with wild rice and lemon soufflé. It was delicious and romantic!

Access is just a little challenging - the last 1/4 mile is a little rough, but don't worry, it is worth the drive. I would highly recommend La Montana y el Valle!

We stayed here for 4 days in February and loved everything about it. Our hosts Jane and Barry have such attention for detail. Our private casita looked right at Volcan Baru, the view was spectacular. Everything was immaculate and comfortable. We loved their beautiful gardens, watching the colorful birds, listening to the river below us, Barry's coffee tour, and the amazing fresh roasted coffee, fruit and home baked muffins and scones for breakfast. We had a very romantic date night dinner, complete with table linens, fresh flowers, duck and lemon souffle. We even had candlelight-all provided by Jane and Barry. I would love to go back!

Room Tip: Each casita was beautiful and private.

We stayed at La Montana in February. Jane and Barry are the consumate hosts. And, they helped with the rest of our trip as well, rental car, guides in Panama City, The Sea Gull Cove Lodge in Boca Chica......

Anyway, the cottage was so comfortable and the bathroom...recently redone was perfect. Breakfast was fresh fruit, homemade scones and breads and.....fresh roasted coffee..what a treat.

The date night dinner (we had duck) was delicious and lovingly presented...oh yes, add the lemon souffle. We also has smoked salmon and salad...on another evening...more than enough for dinner.

Along with the excellent accomodations and food ask about birding..even if you're not an expert (we're not) it was a wonderful experience.

Jane and Barry provide a total Panama experience!

Room Tip: There are three cottages. I would say they are equal.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying in Boquete at this B and B March 5 through March 7, 2012. It was great to come to this beautiful mountain area which delighted us with fabulous views, cool weather after the heat of Panama city, hikes, beautiful and scenic drives, and great accommodations. It was a great place to stay in and of itself. However, the hospitality of Jane and Barry made us feel as if we were the most important guests in their home. Their advice on how to get there was superb and made for easy access after our long drive from Panama City. Their recommendations of things to see and do were perfect. We loved the hikes and the scenic drives.Their property is outstandingly beautiful and magnificently situated for the views of the volcano, the daily rainbows, and the more rare night "moon" bow. After a long day of activity it was a treat to be served dinner by them including reasonable and delicious wines of their choice. Although there are indeed fine restaurants in Boquete, we elected to have dinner in our cottage prepared by Jane and Barry and each one was a relaxing and delicious treat after eating out all week in Panama city. The grounds of the plantation are exquisitely beautiful with many different tropical flowers. One of the highlights of the visit was Barry's tour of the coffee plantation and his excellent explanation of the economics and details of coffee farming. Ms. Dinesen ("Out of Africa") would have made a success of coffee growing in Kenya if she had Jane and Barry with her. Their coffee is provided in bean form at the cottage and was scrumptious.
Because of a storm which is unusual this time of year, there was no power for almost 24 hours and this reinforced the impression that we were in Panama. Jane and Barry rose to the occasion and provided us with candles and dinner once again so that we were not at all distressed and for this they deserve our praise and thanks and is an indication of their commitment to their enterprise.
They love what they do and we hope to return for a longer stay n the future. They are great people!!!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during the New Year's holiday. All of the positive reviews about this property are true. Jane and Barry are wonderful hosts with gracious hospitality. They were always accessible via email during the planning stage of the trip and were also available during our stay. They helped arrange a rental vehicle as well as a tour to Bocas del Toro to visit a native tribe. They also prepare delicious dinners that you can enjoy in the privacy and comfort of your own cottage. The cottage itself was absolutely adorable. The kitchenette enables you to prepare your own breakfast every morning with the baked goods that Barry and Jane have made and of course with fresh roasted coffee from their property.

This was a very memorable property and I wouldn't hesitate to return again.

You cannot do any better in Boquete than to stay at The Coffee Estate Inn.
Jane and Barry are your hosts - they will give you all the information you need to enjoy the area - from maps to restaurant guides to hiking trails - plus - a coffee tour through their estate and gardens.

Your bungalow is immaculate - gorgeous linens - comparable to any 5 star hotel and anything you could possibly need. Their home cooked baking is excellent with fresh fruit and their own coffee or tea in the morning - and if you choose - dinner served in your bungalow. Did I mention the fabulous view out over the valley to the Volcan Baru from your deck?

I do recommend having your own vehicle is Boquete - the hiking trails are all outside of town - it is so much easier with your own transport.

Room Tip: All bungalows have a fabulous view.

I took my husband to Panama for his birthday and we could not have been more pleased with our stay at La Montana Coffee Estate Inn. We are seasoned travelers and are always looking for a unique place to stay. The Inn met all our expectations. The gardens are amazing and the bungalows are terrific. We had the best views of the volcano and we could sit on the terrace and just take it all in. Our hosts were the best. Jane and Barry were not only accommodating, they were quick friends and made our stay extra special. The birds, the breakfasts, the coffee tour and the suggestions for hikes and drives made the trip to Boquete extraordinary. I would certainly recommend the Coffee Estate if you want a terrific stay in a quaint, private, friendly, and beautiful place. The Inn met all of our expectations.

Room Tip: All rooms are equally wonderful
