“A Mix Grill, European- Panama Flavors”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

The location is a bit off the beaten path, it is located across from the Palo Alto School. The actual building is a rugged looking rustic place with an indoor dining area as well as outdoor tables. There were six of us. We each had something different. The Chicken Cordon Blu was what the younger folks enjoyed. My husband had a smoked tuna steak over pasta, I had a filet mignon, and the other two guests had a different entrée. The food was good, the prices were average for the type of meals we chose, the filet mignon was $10.00. We had some wine. The ambience was lacking , table covering was old. It was fairly dark inside and not terribly clean looking. Service as average as well as the desserts, A chocolate mousse pie or the banana foster.

“A unique experience/Unforgettable”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

Where else would you find a talented, vastly amusing Egyptian (?) chef, via Montreal and Costa Rica, speaking perfect English, who gives a personal electric guitar performance after a delicious meal, sometimes accompanied with guest performer? A truly memorable evening.

“Great place full of character”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

At recommendation of owners of Boquete Garden Inn, we walked up to George's for dinner. George is the lively, entertaining owner. After dinner, he sang a few songs for us - each in a different language. Great value and great food. Highly recommend.

“An undiscovered gem”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

We stayed at the Boquete Garden Inn, and this place is only a few yards up the hill. The decor is low-key and unprepossessing -- rough wooden tables in a kind of greenhouse-garden shed, with a big wood-fired grill in the corner. At first glance the chalkboard menu looks like almost a joke -- $16 lobster, $10 filet mignon, etc. (see photo). However, the food is no joke...it is carefully prepared by a first class chef using excellent ingredients. We were bowled over by the quality of the food and the reasonable prices. George is a charming character and the waitstaff were excellent. If you go to Boquete, this is a "must visit".
