We checked into big on New Year's Eve with no real set plans. Abel and susan really went out of their way to set things up for us. The accommodations are lovely and set in the middle of a garden. Every evening there is a complimentary happy hour from 6-7. We were never lost for ways to fill our time and when we wanted to fill it with a nap, the patter of rain in the garden was the perfect back drop. Susan even packed us some to go breakfasts before our early am flight. So sweet!

Thanks for the fantastic review! We're happy you enjoyed your time at Boquete Garden Inn - there *is* a lot to do here (from hiking the volcano to hanging in a hammock!). And it was our pleasure to pack you up a breakfast to go - those early morning departures can be brutal without a bite to eat. :) All the best! ~ Susan

The Boquete Garden Inn was an absolute treat to stay in. The grounds and spacious, clean cottages were wonderful. The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly filling. You get a plate of fresh fruit, yogurt, and a large piece of fresh-baked bread. We would definitely recommend having a rental car in Boquete, although you could get by with taxis. There were also two or three good local restaurants within walking distance of the Inn. Don't pass up on the owners and staff's recommendations for restaurants and tour guides. We were uncertain at first since some of the restaurants they recommended were not in our guide books, but ended up having some of our best meals in Panama at the restaurants they recommended. Also, the bird guide (John, owner of Boquete Custom Tours) they recommended was awesome - we saw two quetzals with him. If you enjoy birding, there's over 80 species of birds on the grounds. We spent a quiet and relaxing afternoon watching birds from a bench and took more pictures of birds than any other place on our Panama trip.

Room Tip: Recommend upstairs unit. We stayed in Unit 5, which was a King Suite close to the breakfast area and...

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We like the birds and breakfasts too. :) We get our fresh baked goods from Sugar & Spice, the top rated Boquete restaurant on Trip Advisor. And yes, you're right: renting a car is a great idea no matter where you stay. Boquete isn't about the busy, sometimes noisy town centre (especially during Flower and Coffee Festival!). It's about the beautiful areas that surround the town. At just a three minute drive into the town centre, Boquete Garden Inn is ideally located: close enough to be convenient, but away from the hustle bustle. ;) Thanks again and all the best! ~ Susan

This is one of the very good hotels that we stayed during our trip of Costa Rica and Panama. The hotel has 10 rooms and has a beautiful garden. Sitting at the breakfast table, one can see variety of birds. The rooms are simple but very elegant. You can have free coffee between 8 am and 6 pm. They have a happy hour between 6 pm and 7 pm and you can enjoy a free wine or beer. The taxi fare from this hotel to town would be $3 one way. It costs $40 to reach this hotel from the airport of David. The entire staff is very nice and helpful.

We loved our stay at Boquete Garden Inn! The owners and managers were extremely friendly and super helpful. The fresh fruit in the morning was wonderful. We loved the location too. While not quite in the city center, we loved the walk to and from town - beautiful landscape, weather, etc. Great restaurants nearby too!

Thanks for the wonderful review! ;) We agree: our location is ideal. We're close to town (only a 3 minute drive), but not right in the city centre, which can be noisy and busy. And we are lucky to have great restaurants on our street! Boquete is a beautiful place - we're glad you got to fully appreciate it! ;) All the best! ~ Susan

Great location, great accommodation, great service. My wife and I stayed in one cottage, and our three kids stayed in another cottage beside us. Both were spacious and well-appointed. The gardens are beautiful, with dozens of spots to plop down and read a book or have a nap in the sun. Breakfast is simple but good, and the staff was cheerful and helpful. The perfect base to explore Boquete!

Thank you for the great review! We're happy you enjoyed your stay with us and that you had the opportunity to relax in the gardens! And you're right: Boquete Garden Inn is a great base to explore Boquete...and Boquete is the perfect base to explore the province of Chiriqui (day trips to Pacific beaches, Volcan, Cerro Punta, Caldera (hot springs!) and Gualaca (Los Cangilones!). Thanks again! It was great to meet you all! ;) ~ Susan

Well, we are actually checking out in the morning, but thought I would write my review on our last of three nights stay as we are off to Bocas in the morning and will not have internet service for several days. I want to review while things are fresh in my mind.

I booked the Inn last Christmas, a year early. Through the year, I emailed Susan several times about tours, transportation to Almirante, car rentals, dining options etc. In every instance, she was very accommodating, patient and got me the answers I needed. When we arrived, her, John (her husband) and her staff were all very helpful when needed.

The Inn and grounds are beautiful, well kept, clean and appropriate for the beautiful area of Boquete. There are numerous birds that visit the property, especially at breakfast when fruit is put out for them to eat. The breakfast is complimentary and is a nice combination of very fresh and tasty fruit, granola, yogurt and fresh bread. There is also a small menu you can order from for a small extra cost.

We stayed in a lower level unit 3A. It had a king and single for our family of three. It was comfortable and we had no issues with the unit. The only negative was the first night. The soundproofing from above our unit was not great. I do not know who was above us, but is seemed like a family of 8 all heavy steppers. They seemed to be pacing the floor above us and we heard every step. This was only the first night.

I can't say this is the best Inn in Boquete, as I have not stayed at them all, but I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Thank you for the review we're glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Yes, it's possible to have noisy neighbours on occasion. We're fortunate that unlike most hotels with guests above, below and side to side, we only have two rooms per building, which substantially reduces the chances of having noisy neighbours most the time.

We loved the atmosphere of the Boquete Garden Inn. Beautiful gardens and landscaping. The birds in the morning are the best we saw in Panama. Room was comfortable and modern.

The best part however was the evening happy hour where you get a chance to meet the other guest and exchange experiences. This was invaluable to our vacation to learn from others what to do throughout Panama. Several people had been where we were headed and several where headed to places we had been so sharing what to do, what not to do, etc. was very worthwhile.

We also enjoyed the opportunity to get to know people from different parts of the world and exchange comparisons to other countries and travels. The owners, Jason and Susan, were fantastic and offered suggestions of things to do not only in Boquete but other parts of Panama.

Only downside to the Inn was its distance to town, but a $3 dollar cab ride solved that. At the end of the day, the Inn was nice and comfortable and I am sure you could find other rooms similar in town, but it was the people who owned, managed and stayed there that made it a place we would return.

Room Tip: From what we could see you can't go wrong with any of the rooms.

Thank you for your review, We too, really enjoy our happy hours and meeting guests from all over the world. We are fortunate to have a really great clientele.
We always highly recommend renting a car in Boquete, the more independent you are the more you don't have to rely on others (the pace of life is very different here...) and you have the freedom to travel the mountains at will.
