Randy has an excellent place perched up in the hills amongst coffee plants and gardens. It’s on the way to the Pipeline hiking trail and the large national park with the Quetzal trail.

We arrived after driving from Bocas and Randy was welcoming and showed us our suite: modern décor, high ceiling and lots of high windows look out to the garden, coffee plants and valley below.

There is a separate deck area (the Ranchito) that has 4 Adirondack style chairs for looking out to the valley below and just relaxing – in a hammock or chair but, sadly the weather was not inviting enough for us to use it, next time!

The suites had plenty of room: a bedroom with ensuite bathroom – large shower with Aveda shampoo, soap etc., soft plush towels and wash cloths (which we had not seen on our trip yet), and even makeup removing towels and a night light – large comfy bed with 2 bedside tables with flowers, a large closet with hangers, iron, heater and hammocks, and a dresser for your use. The suite continues along a hallway to your “living room/breakfast room” with a couch and shelves of movies, books and a dvd player, a small table & chairs, refrigerator, cabinet with cutting board & knife and wine opener, coffee maker and Randy's freshly ground estate coffee.

Randy has a great system where you write on a small white board what you want for breakfast and at what time – you leave it out on you door that night and ta-da –
breakfast (the best on our trip) comes right on time on a tray: coffee, tea, juice, fresh fruit, oatmeal, cereals, eggs, French toast, toast, and Randy’s hand-made sausage are offered.

Randy can recommend hikes and drives for the afternoon and where to go for meals etc.
Even if the mists get heavy and its not hiking weather there is a great loop drive he pointed out for us.
We had a rental car so getting around was not an issue but he will pickup in town and also will take you to trailheads in the area if you come by bus.

You are given a cell phone for use during your stay and can use it to make reservations, call on activities, and ask Randy anything.

We were doing an intro/overall trip of Panama and had 2 nights here - could have easily stayed longer but, Randy's suites book up early so plan ahead - we were lucky and there was a cancelation, lucky for us!!!!

Room Tip: 2 suites are available, from what we saw they are very similar.

On my recent vacation to Panama, I had the pleasure of staying at this simply stunning B &B in Boquete. Had I know it was so blissful ..I would have planned to stay more than just a few days. Everything here was perfect....Randy has done an outstanding job building this bit of paradise..from the beautiful surroundings, the Ranchito with hammock and Margarita, the "Spa like" rooms, excellent coffee, great breakfasts (brought to your room), excellent suggestions and help in planning what to do to get the best out of my stay. And of course there is the beautiful Kat- make sure you get in at least 1 massage (in your own room) while you are there. Oh yes, also Chubbs the dog and Snack the cat...yes, Chubbs love toast! After have been here for about 3 hours..I knew I wanted to come back again....it truly is a little bit of heaven....and the nights , sitting on the Ranchito, watching the fireflies...BEAUTIFUL!!! Can't say enough about this place and about Randy and Kat...the most gracious, caring, helpful people I have ever met....will see you again sometime..:)

Manana Madera is everything these reviews have said it is and more. At the time of this writing it has 71 excellent reviews and based on our experience, we believe it deserves every one.

My wife and I stayed for two wonderful weeks and enjoyed every minute. Our only regret was returning to San Diego, a vacation destination also but not nearly as fun in comparison.

Randy made every effort to make our stay there one we will never forget. He even provided us with the use of a cell phone; what hotel does that? And Randy's breakfasts were perfect. I looked forward to the eggs, homemade sausage and French toast while my wife usually had the fruit including homegrown bananas and oranges. We also enjoyed the professional massages by Kat. Please treat yourself to this while there, you won't regret it.

Randy reserved horseback rides for us with Franklin. After taking two strenuous hikes, what a joy that was. Franklin takes great care of his horses and he and a guide knew the terrain very well. Thank you Randy and thank you Franklin!

We got to get to know Chubbs the dog. He was a very friendly dog and we enjoyed having him at our doorstep. Everyone at Manana Madera went out of their way to make us feel right at home and that included Chubbs.

Finally, the coffee. My wife and I weren't coffee drinkers when we arrived in Panama but after 2-weeks of enjoying Manana Madera grown coffee we are now. We took a bags home with us and I suggest you do too as that generic stuff you have been drinking probably won't taste the same.

Thank you again Randy & Kat. Panama may be a wonderful place to visit, but what made our time there most incredible was spending it at Manana Madera.

Hard for any other place to ever live up to Manana Madera and Randy's hospitality is a tough act to follow. This was a purely enchanting experience from start to finish. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back. Randy, is the ultimate host- going above and beyond from start to finish. He also pretty much helped before we even arrived with all kinds of advice and plans for our trip. When we got there, he catered to our every need. And Chubs the dog was a major added bonus for us animal lovers. We missed our pups and he was there outside our suite every morning to say hello and give us our doggie fix. The Ranchito offered stunning views and hammocks to soak it all in. The property is gorgeous with amazing plants, coffee and colorful birds everywhere. Randy's home cooked breakfast was seriously delish, and his coffee...the most AMAZING ever. The rooms are beautiful, luxurious, clean and cozy. To top it all off, we had soothing massages with the lovely Kat. Honestly, it is hard to imagine being made to feel as welcome or comfortable anyplace else. Thank you Randy for doting on us in every way. If you are looking for an amazing stay in Boquete, look no further. This is paradise and perfection.

And that's not just the coffee! This place is pure luxury, and after the incessant damp of Costa Rica, the dry, crisp cotton sheets and oh so comfy beds here were a dream come true! The host, Randy, is a howl and a super host to boot. We were made to feel so welcome, and boy can Randy make a good cocktail. The guest suites here are surrounded by verdant, fragrant hills, the tallest peak in Panama tips his hat to you as you laze in the hammocks watching the humming birds do their thing and Chubs (Randy's very cute dog) sides up to you for a cuddle. I can safely say that his was the most picturesque place on our 3 week tour (whistlestop) of Costa Rica and Panama, the area is most beautiful, the flora and fauna wonderful and the air so clean and fresh and dry (believe me after weeks of rain and not so hot humidity dry is wonderful). Randy grows coffee, and his house blend is a joy, I could have inhaled the stuff! Of you like mountains, colourful flowers, tumbling waterfalls, peace, solitude the this is the place for you. Ad check out the restaurants that Randy recommends, all truly superb!

My rating: 6+
Highlights: Everything

We stayed at Mañana Madera for 3 nights. Randy (the owner) picked us up from Boquete Garden Inn. This truly is the best place we have ever stayed. The hospitality that Randy exudes is exceptional. It can be very difficult for a place with such high ratings to actual live up to them, but our expectations where surpassed. The cottage that we stayed in was about 1 year old and for $80 a night exceptional. My wife could not believe it was only $80 and had me ask Randy if we had somehow made a mistake in our reservation. Large bedroom, bath and living area. Stunning area and views, secluded. Best coffee we have ever had, nice breakfast by the chef (Randy). Randy is very helpful with rides, whether providing himself or getting a taxi. Provided us with bottled drinking water daily, Randy gave us lots of coffee samples and $1 BEER, wifi, TV (no cable) but selection of movies. Randy suggested where to go and not to go and was right on about everything.

Lives up to its name!

Our stay at the Manana Madera Coffee Estate exceeded our expectations and beyond. What the reviews say is true but the truth is, it is even better. I have travelled quite a bit and this accommodation is truly a hidden gem. Not only is the property incredibly beautiful, but the owner, Randy, is hands down the best host ever, so much so that for the rest of our trip my boyfriend and I kept wishing we could just call Randy. The suites are simply beautiful, comfortable and very clean, the view from our room and the Ranchito are serene. We only had a day and a half in Boquete and Randy had the best recommendations for food, activity and truly made our stay the best with the time we had. He arranged our transportation and even dropped us off and picked us up after dinner, incredible hospitality! It was our first Valentine's day and his kind efforts truly helped make it memorable. The coffee is fantastic, I recommend it as a great gift/ souvenir. We would definitely love to return. Thank you Randy!
