My family spent an incredible 3 days at the Coffee Can last month. We would definitely say that it was one of the highlights of our 3 week road trip in Panama. Staying on a small, family-run coffee finca and sleeping in a converted shipping container are two pretty unique experiences!
The hosts were so helpful and friendly, the accommodation was immaculate and the location spectacular! Waking up every morning to birdsong, fresh air and a cup of coffee that was grown a couple feet away was amazing. I was happy to let my 6 year-old roam-free and explore, and all of us loved learning about the ins and outs of coffee production.
The location is only a 10 minute drive from the bustle of Boquete with its great restaurants and markets but it feels like you’re hours away in the mountains. The shipping container accommodation was perfect: really comfortable beds, an awesome warm shower, a couch, a tv and wifi (if you need those!). It was breezy and cool during the day with the windows open and sheltered enough at night to keep us warm in the cooler mountain temperatures.
I would definitely return and I would definitely recommend staying at the Coffee Can to anyone who loves nature, quiet, COFFEE and who are interested in experiencing Panama off-the-beaten-path.
